My mechanic specialist installed this device for me. And his biggest selling point about it was that this camera has lasted him for more than a year without failing in his own cars - something that I guess dash-cams constantly do. He says that a lot of cameras just die because of constant exposure to the sun and heat over time, and having a hardwired camera in your car actually costs a lot more over time when having them installed and uninstalled. Having this camera installed cost me no more than $250 at first. And now that the wiring has been snaked through my pillars and molding and is out of the way, all I ever have to do is replace the main unit for $100 if it ever fails in the future =)

Just ordered mine, I'm so excited! My old one didn't have a screen so I had to connect my phone to it by wi-fi and use an app to set the settings and the clock which got really annoying. This will be much better.

Ah... you're local! I'm on the west side of the metro area. I got this V1 1080P along with the Rove R2-4K and tested side by side to see which would go on front. The Rove was a bit crisper video, while the Rexing was a little less sharp. However this Rexing does have a 170 degree vs Rove's 150 degree angle (I did test to verify). Stop by my channel, I've just installed the new cams today so all my videos to date are with the older Lukas LK-7900 ARA. Looking forward to the Rove in front and Rexxing in back so I can make PIP videos.

Question - ironically, the menu looks like an exact match to the Apeman dash cam I had. I’m sure the software is the same. The biggest issue I had with my Apeman was that I had to format the SD card every 2-3 weeks. I can’t have that going on with this camera. It would be going in my wife’s van and she doesn’t want to have to do anything from start to finish with the cam. From your experience, did you have to ever format the cameras SD card after the initial formatting?

@@coleregan7115 What you describing is not normal. You can either try a different MicroSD card with higher speed rating, or reset the dashcam. If the problem persist, then there is a problem with the dashcam.

Yes because it's powered by the car's ignition 12V. So when you turn off the ignition, there is no more power going to the dashcam.

@ yes i purchased the hardwired kit, the thing is there is only one good grounding spot which am using for my auto dimming mirror, the other two bold have thin plastic wall (part of the dash), between the bolt head and the chassis) , i think it would be better to have a separate ground for each device, do you think i can use one of those if i put the grounding terminal behind the plastic?, or that wouldn't work ?

Towing a large RV camper would you suggest a low , medium, or high sensitivity setting? Great video and explanations.

The sensitivity can be set to high as it only gets triggered when an impact happens. With it set to high, perhaps someone hitting you from behind will trigger the g sensor to lock the video clip. But even if it doesn't, the video is recorded on the micro SD card.

Once the memory card is full, it will overwrite the oldest file. How much video saved depends on the size of the memory card and how much you drive.

When i was looking at dashcans the rexing v1 was one i considered. I live in a tropical country and 200usd for a dashcam that may die in the heat was too much money. I ended up choosing the viofo a119 with gps for $110 .

Does this have any video stabilization built in? I need a dash cam with theese features that I can run off a portable battery bank on my motorcycle but without video stabilization I'm afraid it will not be a readable image with all the bumps and vibrations. Besides for that I think it's great for the price. If I left it over night with nothing but a street light would it still be legible video or does it need a lit area like headlights..... No dashcam has stabilization. If you need stabilization, use something like a GoPro. Also no dashcam records continuously when vehicle (motorcycle) is parked. Parking mode only captures motion detection or impact detection.

You can also power it using a 5V Mini USB power source. You just need to provide your own long mini USB cable from the charge port to the dashcam.

There's an accessory cable that can allow you to connect it to an always on or on-at-ignition slot and ground screw in your interior fuse box by the driver door. It's not included with the product, but can be found fairly easily on Amazon and is reasonably priced.

You can set a specific car ID for the dash camera if you run more than one of these in several cars. So you can identify which dash camera is from which car.

This camera as well as other REXING produces are not compatible with BMW automobiles. You must hard wire this camera so not to have battery draining problems. In addition this camera does not handle heat and hot temperatures very well, it will cut off and have problems in heat. I would not recommend this or other REXING brands. RGEE
