Reminds me of the one in Great Yarmouth, I was walking up the coastline from Hopton and just got over the bridge before the bells rang. First time i've ever seen a bridge do that!

There is a Bascule type Bridge in Lowestoft (Oulton Broad) more or less the same design..

Built in the 1930s, reliable to this day. Twin Sails Bridge built in 2000s, spent more time broken than has working.

Most are sensible to turn engines off, knowing that you'd be there for 10 minutes or more

😠 - a petrol head? Loves burning petrol/the sound of the engine, it is a requirement to turn off engines at level crossings/bridge type crossings like this as you would not know how long it would be closed for
