One of the things that made me succeed as an Owner Operator was the word NO. It didn’t belong in my vocabulary. If dispatch asked if I would do a certain load I always said yes. Sure some of them sucked, but after a while the dispatchers knew they could count on me and they started to save the juicy loads for me.

Same here.For the past 28 years.With one small, insignificant difference.Every time I say yes and I do it,even worse load is waiting for me when I come back.Oh,well.

Doing pretty good ever since I stopped driving Cascadia.. 40 days out of 90 I worked for certain company, that piece of 1 year old crap was in a garage. Spare Cascadias were even worse. Hard to make money like that..

APU helps some but the bottom line is THE RATES!!! This guy Ronin gives good advice but there's other times he's full of........... It's the RATE and NOTHING else.

Im looking for a webastos for the cabine and engine, what the difference with an apu?
@kennykedits7 күн бұрын
Simple little thing cost alot, One thing to go with wasting money idling your truck all night is the more engine hours on the engine itself which could cause more repairs come sooner then later down the road.

I tried getting an APU all road trucks they said no

.40 cpm for fuel
@Artur_Khazin7 күн бұрын
Wouldn't it be so nice if life was that easy. You do not want to shut that engine off if the temperature is below -20c or -5f . You need to keep warm air charging trailer brake chambers and DEF tank warmers and fuel tank return line to warm up your diesel. The generator will cost you about $1200 annually maintenance plus about a gallon and hour while in use.
@canadiantrucker797 күн бұрын
Ice never had an issue. The APU runs through the return line, returning warm fuel to the tanks. The APU also runs off the tracks cooling system also keeping antifreeze moving through the trucks system. As for warm air in the brake chambers? Ya that's not a thing. Even if the air was warm from the compressor, it's cold before it gets in the chambers. Not that it matters. You need DRY air in the chambers. That's why you drain your supply tank daily. If equipped with an air dryer, check the filter. For God's sakes use brake line antifreeze in both the emergency and service lines about once a week or when you swap trailers (winter only). Another thing that saves drivers thousands a year ..... DO YOUR DAMN PRE/POST TRIPS. It's more than just kicking a tire
@Artur_Khazin7 күн бұрын
@canadiantrucker79 Yeah, you do that in those temperatures. You're just asking for trouble. It doesn't warm up your fuel in fuel tanks, don't lie. However, because I choose where I run, I've only managed to Idle 250 hours this whole year so far. How do you justify spending $20.000 dollars on the APU. Back in 2008, I had a thermo king unit, which I've spent $8.000 on, and even back then, it wasn't worth it, I only kept the truck for 4 years.
@canadiantrucker797 күн бұрын
@Artur_Khazin it was just -40 here and there was no issue. There is no lie here. Just facts. Winter is far from new to me. If you don't know how an APU works, that's fine, just say so. Maybe you had a bad experience, but that doesn't change the facts. An APU will save you a lot of money. And like the video said, the Canadian government helps us to buy one. After that it's up to you to maintain it.
@Artur_Khazin7 күн бұрын
@canadiantrucker79 Oh yeah, you're one of those super truckers that dependent on government stimulus checks.

lol yea bro speak for yourself. Plenty of guys out here who are truck drivers and have money
@budalanemac31155 күн бұрын
@@adamekgolchannel best thing ever is that most ppl who drive trucks spend money befpre they even earn it.3 baby momas and 2-3 expensive cars. For no reason. But what you should have done is,buy a yard dog car(you are not driving it most of the time) some old toyota or honda, and park it at the yard. You don't need a better car. Pay off all CC debt, do not carry any debt on CC... Invest everything else and see that cash comming in. You can eat only one steak, drive only one car, one truck etc... you can't do both. Good luck.
