You need someone you trust to manage the dealership that knows what they are doing when you’re not there. You got a mechanic, receptionist and a “detailer” but not one person who is experienced enough to make sure the dealership is run correctly.

The only difference between "parked cars" and "cars for sale" is that the latter shine like crazy and are covered in stickers, flags, etc. This place just look like a parking lot. All cars are for sale, even parked ones, just depends on the price. It's confusing for the would-be customer.

I'm a picky person, even so, a deal breaker is a rusting frame. Anything else can be replaced/fixed etc. as long as the car is a decent price for the condition. You should get with a body shop in the area that will give you a bit of a deal on repainting hoods and bumpers. These are easy repairs and some places will give good pricing to get it done, and they make a huge difference to the appearance. I had an auto body painter who was able repaint my hood and bumper, properly, for 400 dollars and it's a tricoat. That's a great price and not a rattle can job.

If you want to earn an income sitting by your pool, invest in 25 or so Dow Jones Index stocks, don't rely on unsupervised here-today-gone-tomorrow detailers and managers in a business thousands of miles away from your control. That is the beauty and magic of capitalism, you don't have to supervise the CEO of Exxon-Mobil to do his job properly, he has automatic incentives to make him generate maximum dividends for you. Stick the shares "under your matress" and review the portfolio in 10 years' time. You will be pleasantly surprised, one may have gone bust, but two will have gone to the moon, having earned you in the meantime a solid 3.5% annual dividend yield, keeping pace with inflation

Putting this video out will come to be the worst idea that you ever had and will lead to the closing of this dealership sooner than I even expected. You exposed too many shortcuts that dealers perform to make the sale. (i.e. a little black tape on the broken antenna) These type of repairs don't last and shortly after the purchase, these cars start falling apart. You have an inexperienced detailer who actually is costing you money. Lauren, as the manager, should be walking that lot daily to check the condition of not only the vehicles but the property itself. Driving past your lot and seeing filthy cars on the front line, sitting behind weeds with trash and leaves all around is not going to get the people's attention. You shouldn't have to come from Florida to point these things out. I suspect the place isn't doing good and you're only going to make the trip a couple of more times before you shut it down.

A professional detail company would love to have a kid like him because of his work ethic and personality. How would you like to come to work every day as a mechanic smelling paint fumes,poor working conditions and always trying to fix junk that you buy. I think your millions are starting to make you think you are 100% right all the time. This last video was very disturbing on how you knocked your staff. They are doing their best under the fear of ridicule by you on the WEB

You are correct. Craig "shows" Devon how to bodge not detail (just mist coat a random silver over the stone chips, blob on a mis match colour over a rust hole, etc) If you don't teach best practice, or supply quality products, how are you ever going to get quality results.

I have been flipping cars for a few years now, question? I have been buying some 15-, 16-, and 17-year models. milage ranging from 100k to 150k. I do lots of maintenance on them, brakes, tires, gaskets, changed all the fluids and do repairs as needed to make sure they pass inspection. I am having a hard time selling them, what am I doing wrong? My prices are decent way bellow KBB

Where are you located? The car market is slow right now. Are you offering financing for your customers? Another things your market might be calling for cheaper vehicles.
@antonioaguirre6166

@ I am in Texas close to Houston. I do not offer financing, my profit margin is not the big. I think you are right seems like cheap cars selling fast around here. I don’t like buying cheap cars, most of the time cheap cars come with lots of problems. The repairs exceed the value of the car.

Drive by traffic, is that even a thing anymore? Most of your leads are coming from the internet. You could have a warehouse space and do the same sales over a roadside dealer lot.

Running your business in New Hampshire from your pool in Florida is a bad idea. When the cat's away the mice will play, as will the detailer. You have to be there 24/7, supervising everything and motivating staff. Sell and start again where you want to live.

Everything you mentioned here is absolute common sense! Those running the business when you're not there should know all of this! ALSO WANT TO LET YOU KNOW what I found out about my subscription on your channel.... I hadn't been watching or even seeing any of your latest videos (last few or more months) but for good reason... they haven't been showing up on my feed! Somehow I had become UNSUBSCRIBED to your channel. I have no clue how it happened! Is it something KZbin did? I don't know. Is it something important for me to have told you to see why your subs are being Unsubed? I would assume so. Just thought I'd let you know if there's something you could want to look into about it.

All I would care if oil was changed new pads rotors and disclosure of issues cosmetics not concern is the insurers they won't give you comprehensive or jack rate up if vehicle is old. Or disclosure pre purchase condition and new upgrades.

Flying Wheels has changed its name to Lipstick on a Pig. Kind of sad that prepping a used car for sale entails painting over rust, painting carpets, and other surface level stuff to make the car 'look' good. But how about going through and checking the car for safety, reliability, the stuff that matters. Those are the videos to prepare for a car, those videos if the work is done will sell a car.
