I can write an email that'll blow your friggin' mind - I consult a thesaurus, pick out a typeface to perfectly fit the tone... everything. On the other hand, any time I have to talk on the phone, I sound like someone who just woke up in a dumpster and has no idea how they got there.

Back in 2003, my wife and I had starter home (known as a townhouse) and had to deal with HOA. Long story short: rain, leaky roof, damage to wall and ceiling. Next monthly meeting everyone brought it up and those “in charge” said they would cover the cost of fixing the leak in roof but each family was responsible for their own interior repair. They cited rules for anything interior/exterior to our faces that evening. We all screamed that THERE WOULDN’T EVEN BE ANY INTERIOR DAMAGE IF THE ROOF HAD NO LEAK!!! But they refused to budge on the matter. 😡🤬

I had this habit of using e-mails to myself as a notebook for ideas and planning. Once I sent my ideas to my adult student because it was right after our online session. Coincidentally It was somewhat of a sketch about self-discipline and it was consisted with sentences in the fashion like "You have to do this otherwise you can't achieve this and that". In a couple of seconds I received one-word letter "What?". Fortunately We had a laugh after I explained everything.

I’ve reached out to former teachers to ask which instruction books they would recommend to help me learn how to write proper sentences 😂 I had the best gpa of my small graduating high school class and I attended college but I’m still incredibly insecure because I know that I don’t speak or write out proper English.
