The book was 100% better than this very badly done take off of the book and the rest of the terribly done movies I don't understand why Jules Verne's books cannot be done as they were written except for Patrick Stewart the acting was extremely bad in this the graphics were extremely bad. you ask for an opinion that's mine

This was a good movie to watch. The whole family can watch this and parents don't have to worry about explicit scenes, so get the popcorn and drinks and enjoy the show. After you see it you will want to go out and buy it and keep in your video collection as a classic. The kiddos will enjoy the monsters on the island too and the adults too.

Thank you for sharing this! Loved the story, BUT I was only eigth years old , when my father read me the " Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne. I read the book when I was about 10....and a couple of times later. What a great story. One of the most loved books of my youth. Unfortunately this beautiful movie is not true to the story. Anyway love this movie!

Seems like most movies don't fully follow the books. But this one is MUCH better than what Hollywood did to Wolfen! Not even close to the same story. 😒 Best one I've found was Silver Bullet, but Stephen King was the author of the book AND screenplay, so it makes sense. 😊

thanks for adding tis film although the remake sadly wasnt any better than the original lol but i grew up on 50's 60's sci fu, back then those "B" movies were actually high tech lol and most enjoyable days at the saturday matinee, Jules Verne was way ahead of his time , a true visionary, his works can hardly be deemed fiction as i have seen in my lifetime many things he wrote about become realit,y, i will say his books were much more entertaining than any of his movies, thank you R.I.P. Good eye. I have seen on Mackinac Island in the Michigan area, cannons are demonstrated for entertainment, and even with a lesser charge, the Cannoneer had to be to the side of the cannon firing, or he would be trounced by the big gun. So you have a good eye for detail,

Not a bad rendition of the story and somewhat closer than many. The acting is good, Patrick Stewart give a good performance as Nemo and Vinnie Jones was obviously having fun chewing the scenery as the Pirate captain. The effects especially for a made for TV movie are pretty good and the early 2000's CGI is better than I saw in many Theatrical movies of the time with only a few janky blue screen effects letting down the side. While obviously intended as a family movie some of the scenes may be a little intense for younger viewer discretion is advised
