The scary thing about huggy wuggy (aside from, like, literally everything else) is the fact that it's not actually that fast at first. Good horror isn't constant jumpscares and loud noises. Good horror is Huggy's uncanny sprint clamber through the vents. I haven't had my fight or flight response triggered like that in a very long time.
@roberttheronin98033 жыл бұрын
Its because they trick you into thinking you are safe because the vents are small and Huggy is super tall, at least you always see him as such that you forget that he is soft as fuck and thus very flexible and the moment Mark sees him in the vent through a bunch of bars he realises it too "Oh yea, something this big technically shouldn't fit into such a small space but it can absolutely fold in om itself" and that is the highest form of horror imo, when you go into a supposedly inaccessible safe area and it becomes no longer safe.

@@akuhakare2201 Most people when talking about jumpscares they usually mean those over-the-top, in your face, from nothing to bam in 0.01 second scares, but honestly? Moments when you look and see Huggy has vanished, his arm slither into the doorway, his face in the vent, or the red light alarm and toys dropping on you on the moving conveyor belt I would also consider jumpscares, at least mild ones. While they don’t give the biggest screams, it’s enough to make a player stop in their tracks or mess with their focus, building up tension and suspense for when the real scare comes around. This is a perfect setup for horror, a gradual build of fear, or maybe even a false sense of security (“they’re trying to scare me with this? The jump scares, though they didn’t get a physical flinch out of me even the first time, still left me with that little pump of adrenaline many times after most jump scares would have worn out and lost effect. Rather than just a momentary thrill it was more ambient dread to me. Two things about Huggy: 1. His teeth. He has three rows, and they're pointing inward, like a shark. If you don't know, the reason sharks have that, is so that prey can't escape their mouths. 2. When Huggy is knocked off the bridge with the box, and bounces off of things, he leaves a spatter of blood behind. Which begs the question, why does he bleed? Edit: Gonna add timestamps I find for any moments y'all might use to fuel your theories, or that I referenced in the comment. 0:04 jump scare showing Huggy's teeth pretty clearly. 28:21 Huggy pretty clearly bleeding. 30:37 for "house" sequence, which honestly the whole thing could be theorized about.

Needless to say, Huggy's animation is flawless, but can we talk about how godly it is in making Huggy believable? What helps add to the scare factor is Huggy's approach. At first he's walking calmly confident he's about to kill you, you get away, he's sprinting dying to kill you.
@katwilliams29503 жыл бұрын
Play where he's stalking you or chasing through the vents especially at a slower playback......even if Huggy is slow..... he's absolutely terrifying. props to the creators because, it's not just jump scares. There multiple layers of fear and small unsettling things applied. Wow. Can't wait for more

⚠️DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS⚠️ That letter at the beginning saying “everyone thinks the staff disappeared 10 years ago, we’re still here, find the flower” is a lie. They aren’t still there. That letter was meant to lure the MC back, so they could finish what they didn’t complete on the hour of joy. Who wrote it? I don’t know. Perhaps the prototype, perhaps catnap, perhaps a monster we have yet to meet…. I’m sure others have come to this conclusion, but I am rewatching this series now and this has just occurred to me. If the toys murdered and ate every last employee in that facility… that letter has to be a trap. But also… if it was a trap written by a toy then… how did they send it?
@KurtCobainsMicrophone7 ай бұрын
I have a feeling it was Ollie. I think Ollie is a toy, either a standalone toy trying to lure the player back to the factory - or he could be the prototype, since the prototype is known to perfectly imitate voices and Ollie somehow knows where the player is at all times..... and guess who randomly shows up in places? The prototype.

I love the analog horror aspect and how it's set in a 50s/60s era instead of the 80s/90s era most analog horror is in. Something about those old black and white commercials makes it creepier to me and they did phenomenal work creating the commercial. All the actors and the way it's put together really makes it seem like it did come from the past.

I think it's the way he almost slithers through the vents. The way his his arms and legs bend at weird directions makes sense because of the toy design he's based off of, but also adds a huge spook level because when he's in motion ANY part of his limbs can turn and slink around.
