Habits pretty much run your life. Nearly everything you do on a daily basis is based on a series of habits you’ve developed over your lifetime. Habits are behaviors that have become automated, meaning you hardly need to think about them. You just do them reflexively. If you’re like most people though, some of those habits aren’t serving you well. They may lead to trouble at work, in relationships, in your physical health, or with your finances. And even though you may want to break those bad habits, you continue to do them and feel like a slave to them.
That’s one of the things superstar singer Jojo-who rose to fame as a pre-teen in 2004 with her smash hit single “Leave (Get Out)”-opened up about in an episode of Scan My Brain with Dr. Daniel Amen at Amen Clinics. The singer and actress, now in her 30s, who abused substances at one point in her life, said she’s too disorganized. She wants to be more organized and she actually likes the thought of getting things in order, but she struggles to do it consistently or to create systems that would help keep her on track. In addition, she tends to criticize herself for “making the wrong choices” over and over again.
The good news is that Jojo-and you, too-can learn to overcome bad habits. Your brain is the key to doing it.

That is some of the best clinical advise given. Great job doc. Mental health professionals, researchers, teachers, cellular molecular biologist love you Jo Jo. Some of us have been saying this for years but we get gaslighted if we say anything. That’s why it’s so critical and life saving that your doing this. With every celebrity that does this it’s another stab at the stigma. Great work!

I know what JoJo mean that when her album said trying not to think about it, like when she had experienced depression and anxiety things that keep preventing her from doing the things she like the most inside her head.

To be real I truly understand what JoJo means by the title of her album trying not to think about it. And no matter what a person goes through depression is always there to takeover in so many ways

My goal is to save money to do a brain scan. 2 years ago I asked my dad to get my brain scanned for Christmas but financially he couldn’t do it. It’s been 2 years and because of bad choices I have made I was still not able to save for it but 2022 I’m doing it, I dont care what my brain wants to do I am saving and I am getting my brain scanned !

All you post is celebrities getting better. What about the nobody’s that can’t afford this because they can’t work because of it or have a really difficult time getting through life because of it. Or that can’t even get to one of your offices because of it to get a scan never mind afford it.

Let me explain why. Mental health professionals have known this for decades and the real courageous one's have been speaking up but when we do so we get gaslighted and attacked. The stigma is a monster. This guy has been ridiculed and attacked for almost 30 years. It was not until courageous celebrities like Tony Robbins, Justin Bieber, and Miley Cyrus coming out publically did people start to listen. There is not enough attention on this issue for there to be a demand for this to be covered by health insurance and even part of standard medical care. So inorder for that to happen the stigma must be killed. The way that is done is by celebrities going public. So you should be screaming on social media for Christiano Ronaldo, Simone Biles, Oprah, Ariana Grande etc. to do this show. When Ronaldo and Simone comes out Bye bye Stigma. Then it can become mainstream. As of right now no one cares. Look how many views he is getting. This info saves lives and no one cares.

Ok I hear you and people know now and insurance will never pay. At least in my lifetime and I’ve been dealing with this for 45 years like others. I know there are people that will fight people like him. I know he’s been ridiculed like others for years and happy and respect that they push through. Every time I find something that seems to make sense and they want to help it’s way too much and can never get there because of anxiety. So seeing only celebrities that have such a hard life traveling the world, making millions, getting there in private jets with all the people that love them doesn’t help me and others like me. I’m sure they also have some struggles and I love Tony Robbins too but he clearly didn’t have issues enough to struggle and I don’t mean just with money. Yes he had a bad childhood but didn’t have the issues not to get where he is. He says change your state and all that and your life will be amazing. Amen says there’s something wrong with my brain and that’s why I can’t change my state. So who is right?? Am I just completely stupid like everyone has said to me my whole life since i was little and there’s nothing wrong with my brain?? And great for them to get to where they are working hard I respect that. I’m not a lazy guy by any means and worked my butt off too. But because of my issues (I assume) I got nowhere and am completely alone and now at the point I almost can’t work and I hate it. I’ve lost so much time with my son and it’s just getting worse because of my issues. I hide it from him with excuses and lies but he thinks I don’t want to be with him. His mom is NO help and I worry so much about him. And no one understands. Doctors and anyone just says take a pill take a pill. Go talk to someone. And what?? Then it’ll stop working and give me a side effect?? Well then we’ll change it for another one and another one. And all the therapists just say the same stuff. And you get gurus like Robbins saying therapists don’t help (I agree) but you try and get help from things like this and you can’t so what do I do?? Everyday is literally a constant mental exhausting struggle. I don’t remember what happy or calm feels like.

He’s got free assessments online, tons of books with tons of helpful info, a podcast, these videos to learn from, etc. He’s constantly throwing out very helpful info and saying one doesn’t need a scan but can figure out what’s wrong just by what’s going on and behaviors. And he made stuff to help. These people are being vulnerable for you because we can’t afford the scans but we can understand through others.
