GM axed Pontiac for other reasons other their design. I doubt better designs would've saved them. I used to have a 97 Pontiac Bonneville throughout hs and college, then finally bought a 09 Pontiac G8 GXP, a real car the Chevy Impala should've been.

I like to think the right team of designers and good management could've kept them afloat for a while but heyy I may be wrong. Wasnt GM going through the whole possible bankruptcy thing at the time?

@@doubleo3167 I remembered reading years ago that the guy that used to be a director (something like that) for Pontiac said Pontiac was going to be the performance brand for Chevy and Cadillac which is why they started selling the G8. A lot of changes were coming before it's death...RWD G6 compact sedan similar to the Cadillac ATS, the new model Camaro was going to be the GTO, the Firebird was going to be what Corvette is for Chevy, and a redesigned G8 adding in a new high performance trim the ST...Wish they leaked out their designs. Always wondered what the Firebird, GTO, and G6/G8 would look like right now. Slow sales way before the Bankruptcy filing and also selling at lower prices than Chevy is what killed them. So I believe Pontiac probably would still been alive if the Bankruptcy never happened.

I think the redesign looks a bit tired unfortunately, it reminds me a of an old pug or something :/ Again, the taillights seem to be the problem. Now, they are way too low and the fact that they are downward facing, does not help. If you were to switch the orientation and make the "lip" go above so it creates a U shape, it would bring a joyful aspect to the design, which in my opinion, fits the brand well.

I think almost every car looks 10 times better with a ducktail or some lip, not the same on every one but one that fits each one. He just did another Porsche redesign 3 days ago and missed the same opportunity. He even said that one problem of moving the tail lights is the gap that remains...

Absolutely !!! Exactly what I was thinking. The rear end seems higher and higher and not even pointy anymore like the past 911’s. The 992 rear now looks like a straight / Flat wall from side view.

It's my understanding that European Laws require that the height of front and rear bumpers be higher. Porsche is a "Form Follows Function" company. So lighting goes up as well. Great job on your mods.

Your re-design of this Porsche came out fantastic. Just like your redesign of the BMW X7, you made the vehicles look so much better than the manufacturers did. The only change I would make on this Porsche is I would not have added the chrome. Other than that what a great job!!!

The grille in the back was for ventilating the air-cooled engine. today's Porsches are water-cooled. I'm not saying the vent couldn't be made to be functional, but maybe a 1970s duck-bill spoiler would look cool too?

I love the redesign!!! There’s just a few things for me that I would add and tweak if it had the photoshop skills that you have! The center section of the rear tail lights (to me) should match the original cars by making the light bar even across the bottom. One solid width/height where the Porsche badging is. Also maybe in some way incorporate retro inspired lip. And lastly deck lid lines so that the rear end can open into the engine compartment! I love all your redesigns and you’re amazing at what you do on your channel!
