Comically, just realised I don't own any of the cars in the thumbnail! The guy that bought my car got a lift with his friend in a 912... beautiful car.

Updates are always great to see. They're real. No dramatic voice, no bells and whistles. And the more I learn about Porsches the more I enjoy seeing owners that appreciate all the models for what they are. The 911 series overall is a great series. Some better than others for different reasons. And each 928 owner has a very specific reason for owning one. Just that you've put more time into yours than anyone else (on YT) that I've seen. The 911 going to Australia struck me as funny. Quite a few Brits and Aussies absolutely LOVE 928s. Quite an impressive GT project as well.

Cash in pocket + space in garage a very dangerous situation, and an inevitable outcome. I would encourage you to have a go at painting one or both of your projects. Research well and take your time and it will turn out good, at a fraction of the cost of having a body shop paint it for you. Tips make sure you get a good spray gun. Make sure the air is clean and dry. Get a good compressor.

Well done Todd and a GT no less! I'd be very tempted to get a full inspection carried out on the GT by a Porsche specialist first before doing anything. It could be a wise expenditure while allowing you to know where you stand, especially with funds required for both cars. Anyway congrats again.

Hey Todd have you considered vinyl wrapping? You’re looking at about £1k materials including for errors and it lasts a good few years especially when you’re keeping them in the garage. Gloss vinyl wrap looks amazing and you can barely see the difference between the wrap and a paint job. I’ve wrapped my 928 in lockdown having watched youtube tutorials and the result was amazing. I’m happy to send you some pictures if you want. 0:06

Welcome to the 928 addiction 🙂...you will never get rid off the virus. I sprayed my 928 in 2010 for about 2000 euro which is quite cheap. And paint is still looking great after 14 years. But my Porsche is always under a cover when not driving. Nice S4 and I love the engine, although it is a bit more complicated since from 86 onwards a lot of early electronics has been implemented...

All you need as far as a "booth" is concerned is proper ventilation, but try to keep your area as clean as you can. Don 't be overly concerned about perfect layout or dirt because the art of it is in the color sanding and buffing. Practice on a panel or two. It won't take long to get comfortable with it.

you're a nutter!.. in a good way! 😂..yeah with bonnet, that blown clearcoat. If you get some wet n dry sandpaper, pick an area and spray with water. Use the wet n dry to remove the lacquer back to the paint, dry off and then spray a layer of new clear coat you'd be amazed. Obviously where the paint's damaged there's no point. Try the wings or bonnet...nothing to lose if you're going to paint it anyway

Love the GT Todd re the hatch lid not working does the motor run when you pull the switch but keep running until you let go? If so check fuse 26 1 amp which stops the motor in the right place so you can latch the lid. Silly little circuit with a transistor in the motor to switch it

@Porsche928-h7y18 күн бұрын
Oh yeah, Todd, do you remember my cold + warm start problem : I found that it has to do something with my fuel distributor. Apparently it can happen that the larger plunger in the center of the FD might be sucked up by vacuum in fuel lines after engine cooling down. I tested this by disconnecting the fuel line from FD to WUR to let air in and to counterpart the created vacuum. Then I reconnected and car immediately started ! Apparently some fuel distributors have a spring on top of the plunger to prevent this. Do you know if your FD has such a spring ?
