Perfect! THIS is the content I come here for. This is also why James is killing it compared to every other car channel. Sure beats the hell out of watching a bunch of children buy, modify, and flip their cars and calling that "content".

Track days are expensive due to the wear and tear on a car. I have a 2010 911 C4S Cab, and I get through a set of tires and brake pads every 500 track miles (at PCA DE events). ie. A set of brake pads and tires last me two weekends.

Hi James, don't suppose you'll see this so long after posting but I for one love track content and this was awesome to see. I didn't even know you went to track days! And I didn't think my estimation of you could go any higher 😜 It's awesome and very humbling seeing that whole process of working on the art of it all, on your race line, breaking timing, skill in passing others etc. and it would be great to show the kids that think they're The S**t because they got a good laptime on a video game...? But I also love the fact that you don't necessarily need to be rich to do it. At some tracks you can hire a super light weight race car or even buy one for under ten thousand quid. Or maybe that's just the US? Anyway, love this and please keep 'em coming!

@hpkntnw4 жыл бұрын
It is amazing that Porsche can make that engine stay together for as long as they do. 9,000 rpm means that crankshaft is making 150 complete revolutions every second. Even at 6,000 that’s 100 revolutions every second!!

Great video. GT3 sounds amazing and goes to show the quality of engineering which leads me on to the brake pads. Yes expensive but you get what you pay for. If you can afford a car north of £100k and run it on track than €1800 for pads is relative. Good luck.

Don’t think the pads effect the unstrung mass.. because the pads are fixed to the calipers they don’t spin with the wheel. But the rotors do effect the unsprung mass and the ceramic rotors are much lighter than steel...
@lovelocking4 жыл бұрын
yes yes yes she is back
@crystallised884 жыл бұрын
the thing about ceramic brakes is that they surely do last longer, but when it's gonna be time to change the disks oh boy! I've heard Porsche will ask around 20k for a pair.. And that's why some GT owners who track a lot actually go for the steel option

You’re gonna hate it when you have to replace your ceramic rotors. $20K US dollars for a full set, it including labor. This is why most people run steel rotors on the track.
