You know you are in deep shit when you have to drain the coolant to remove the alternator.

WHAT? na, its not difficult, takes 12 minutes to drain and 10 minutes to fill, the alternator its self takes 30 minutes, most of the work is the belt

A question, How in the world did you get it out without removing radiator and front bumper? i got my removed but i cant get it out it doesn't fit! i tried by the tire side but it doesn't' fit either! i noticed you didn't mentioned anything about removing Bumper nor any of those parts! i'm stuck and ready to remove the whole front bumper, Radiator and condenser if need to! Can you tell me how i can get it out without removing those parts? Thanks

Video says that the alternator replacement requires a replacement of o rings. Anyone know more details about that part? want to make sure I get the right one.

Because there wouldn't be any airflow otherwise.. The Touareg (same chassis) has the V10 TDi, and the alternator rests in the valley of the block and requires water cooling also. No other way to keep it cool...

My alternator works the first start of the day… keeps working until you shut the car off. Then it doesn’t work until the next day.
