As a German I would like to add that in german "turbo" is associated with doing something (e.g. work) faster or in general with speed. The most popular german dictionary ("Duden") states that the german "turbo" in the broader sense means "to perform/to achieve/to push oneself/to exert oneself/ to make an effort" (original: sich mehr anstrengen, mehr leisten). Still the Taycan of course has no turbo, but maybe that´s one of the reasons why they kept the "turbo". I hope all of you have a great day and stay healthy.

Tesla fanboys always use "wait for the new Roadster" when their other models lose, and time keeps passing by, and the Roadster does not even exist. Those numbers are just fuel for the fanbase while Rimac, Pininfarina, Lotus already shown their new weapons, alongside Koenigsegg, a group of 50 swedish geniuses that have shown a real 2+2 with 1700 horsepower, the Gemera. The Roadster, the more it delays, the more absurd and outdated will become. And now we come to the Taycan. Why would I prefer it over any Tesla? First of all, it's a Porsche. If you like cars, motorsport tradition, nice driving, accuracy, quality and other stuff, there is no way you can choose a Tesla over a Porsche; and second, because it's a million times better built, is better looking and its performance is easily enough for any real world situation. Tesla is essential nowadays in order to encourage the other brands to start their way to electrification, they have done a wonderful job and their effort can't be rewarded enough. @BTICronox Are we just gonna ignore the fact that they started with a hot car, drove it a small distance at the relatively warm temp of -6C (20F) at the extremely low speed of 50km/h (30mph) and then called the winter range "not bad"? In a realistic scenario, (leaving the ski resort in the dark at 5F, cold car, 50 mile drive @70mph) it would have been a different story entirely.

@BTICronox I ALWAYS drive *at least* 70mph in winter. What are you supposed to do, drive slow just because it's cold? Speed limits are 80mph in my part of Canada and everyone drives that speed even at -20C. If you think -6C is not really cold then you should visit Canada some time, or most of the US. I can honestly tell you that I *rarely* leave the ski resort at 5PM and the temperature is above 20F. Most northern US states easily see -15C all the time. Iphone comparison is silly. It has no thermal management. As far as the aerodynamics... I know the Taycan has better aerodynamics than S. The S is a larger vehicle with more seating and storage and isn't designed for track use. (Here I should interject and tell you. I THINK THE TAYCAN IS A BETTER CAR. I am simply arguing the point of RANGE.) Returning to the point of energy consumption @ speed. You duly noted that the Taycan is more aerodynamic and has 2 gears. So *obviously* it has better fuel consumption at 200km/hr. But guess what? I don't care! Because if I own a Taycan it will be AFTER I buy an S because I need the range of the S *AT* the speeds I can legally drive. (I cannot, and do not drive faster than the 80mi/130km limit! I do not doubt that the EPA test cycle is harsh on european cars. (they were designed to excel at WLTP.) I'm simply saying the results are still relevant and the ranges the european OEMs currently provide do not meet my needs. I simply would not be able to go skiing in a Taycan. Again, I love the Taycan. It is a better car than the S when it comes to track performance. I can't imagine how fun and cool it would be to have one.

@BTICronox Honest question here.... do you live in a place that experiences cold temperatures? If you did you would know that when it is very cold everyone still drives the speed limit on the highway unless conditions are bad. Also, regarding the temperatures of the test: at 3:50 we see the coolant is at a 20C. by the end of the drive at 4:06 it has cooled to 18C. How much further would the temps have fallen if they were going faster than a measly 30mph? Or if they drove a further distance? Now I'm not saying it should have fared better or that a Tesla would fare better. Just saying this test was bunk. Also, while we're at it... you're probably under the impression that the Taycan charges faster than the S based on Porsche marketing. Did you know that is false? Thanks for the discussion! You have taught me things I didn't know.

@@torresalex No one? All do say that in the country where Porsches come from, so it must be the correct version. ;-) Trust me, I am from Germany. That's the correct pronunciation for Porsche. And yes, we do also say "Lan-chee-a" for Lancia like the Italians. But "Renno" is the correct pronunciation for Renault, also in France and here - see forvo.com/word/renault_m%C3%A9gane/
