The Porsche Taycan Turbo, which translates to 'Spirited Young Horse’ in Turkish, is Porsche's first fully electric vehicle after the highly praised Mission E concept. The Porsche Taycan Turbo offers a sleek, elegant and futuristic design in appearance, in keeping with other Porsche model features and harnesses technologies from the Le Mans-winning 919 race car, which becomes evident in the performance data.
The Taycan Turbo executes a 0-62 time in 3.2 seconds and will continue to 99mph in 6.9 seconds. These figures are extremely impressive considering the Taycan Turbo has a weight of around 2,305kg (unladen) due to the front and rear motors and batteries. Cornering speed is no issue either due to the batteries sitting low in the car, providing a low centre of gravity. The power steering is equally impressive and provides the driver with a direct feel to the road, providing you with the maximum level of confidence.
Along with high performance, comfort comes paramount with any Porsche model. The Taycan Turbo is no exception to this. Very good run through. I’ve got a Jet Black 4S+ with gloss black window frames and the Turbo Aero wheels myself and it’s a killer. Also I haven’t got the sun roof and the exterior really benefits from the bubble metal roof and the head room is also better without the panorama roof as the rear structural bar sits just right above your head when leaning it on the head rest on the glass roofed cars. Also you should’ve mentioned the range is better on the 4S+ due to a smaller motors up front than the Turbo and in the case of the Turbo S, also the rear motor is larger and the 21” wheels with 305 section tyres that suck more e-juice to roll. The best range Taycan would be a 4S+ with the 19” wheels which can easily do 300 miles of range and maybe 320 if you baby it. I’ve managed 305 miles on my 4S+. Also, one should be aware of when speccing one of the 3 cool looking 21" wheels, you end up with Good Year F1’s or Continental rubber. On the 20"s you get the great performing 285 section Michelin PS4 tyres which just rock on any surface. The passenger screen is a no go and the electric charging port blocks the side vents with a piece of black plastic which is unfortunate for optimum airflow. Other than that, great video! And after 8000kms in the Taycan I can truly say it’s the best CAR on sale today, ICE or EV alike. It’s just MEGA!🥇

Interesting to read your feedback. Good point on the sunroof and rear headroom. Some markets get the 4S only as price sensitive and due to preferred 19 inch wheels for bad roads/pot holes.

Barison Dude actually the 30% price increase from 4S to Turbo and another 30% from Turbo to Turbo S is just hilarious. There is nothing really that separates the different models except 1.2 seconds of acceleration. Everything on the Turbo S can be specced onto a 4S, and to be honest the 4S+ is the better car with 50-60km more range than the Turbo S.

@@Nord_Mann Wow is the price difference that much ?! In some markets the import taxes are 100% so that would mean a 60% price difference for some countries between variants. 4S+ would definitely be the logical variant.

Barison Dude UK prices was 83000, 115000 and 140000£’s for the respective models according to Romans International. Cars are actually identical, except for bigger front motor on the Turbo vs the 4S and both motors bigger on the Turbo S. That and more equipment included in the price are the differences, and all the equipment are available on the 4S, even the bigger battery on the 4S+ version so you can essentially build a 4S to become a Turbo S to the last detail, except for the bigger electric motors and to me that ain’t worth the ~30000£’s (as you get some kit included like RAS , PDCC, PCCB and PTV on the Turbo S). They even look indentical if you spec the exterior trim bits.

Thank you for introducing the differences of each model in detail. I've always struggled to seperate the Porsche entry one, S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S models. Nowadays it's quite easy to tell AMG and M cars from exterior but Porsche didn't design the top end models to look special.

I am in the market for either a Tesla model S or a Taycan. To many people’s surprise, my heart is set on the S at the moment. I am borrowing a Taycan 4S for a couple of days to be sure. But I’m suspecting that most people who would choose the Porsche is because it’s how they want to be seen while make quality claims against Tesla. I’m aiming for the best all rounder. My business partner and I have owned several Teslas and have never found build quality to be enough of a problem to offset the benefits.

prices would be massively effected if/when Hydrogen comes into play, along with the further ECO friendly position the UK & Europe are going in for by 2030 "yes it's been brought forward 20yrs, originally plans we're set for 2050" anyway, the cost of batteries of which limits the overall life span of the cars down considerably... I think when ppl realise what costs are involved after several years & with limited movement on EV recharge points you'll see ppl opting for an easier option & one that is more reliable/greener. ps who'd buy any EV car upto 10yrs old when the battery would've reached its service life & replacement costs & recycle costs are incredibly expensive... the older/used EV-car market place therefore wouldn't be viable...

Me neither, but I’ve got a Jet Black metallic 4S+ myself and just look how much more expensive the black cars look compared to the dull looking silver car. Mine’s also specced with gloss black window trim and the plastic bits low down don’t really show on the black car so it’s a really good option. But those Sport Aero wheels just look awful. The Turbo Aeros on mine show the calipers a lot better.

It takes a day to install EV charging cable in your home, Not sure if its the same for Hydrogen generator. For now Hydrogen is not really green, not the cheap version atleast.

@@dfd6787 Electric has a larger carbon footprint than any other type of fuel. Hydrogen CAN be clean, we just need to spend as much time and money on it as we do batteries. Of course we will, assuming we exist 50 years from now when we run out of the raw materials for batteries. No matter what we evolve batteries to, they are still going to need non renewable resources. Hydrogen can be made out of thin air, totally renewable...forever.

@@jlsc4125 Good points, and I agree. Hope the Hydrogen does not get lost in this and we keep refining the tech. Though I would prefer balanse, where daily drivers are mainly electric, and heavy tech, like haulers or shipping moves to hydrogen. Altho electric vehicles have initial dump of carbon while producing, they compensate with the lifetime of close to no emissions. Makes it far more governed than any driver with lead foot.
