Here's a little insight into how productions like this are made: Just because you see one single race on screen doesn't mean they only did one IRL. They probably did 50 of them, each one to get a different camera angle. Now, I understand they used some old test numbers cause those somehow were faster (not commenting on that), but you have to be high off your face if you believe that the world's biggest car magazine doesn't know how to put a Model S into it's fastest mode. You just have to believe they couldn't be bothered to do it 50 times for each race they did to get all the camera shots.

If they did do what they said, it would have done a 2.2 second 0-60. Additionally, people have searched for the license plate of the Tesla and found that it’s not a Raven P100D, therefore it’s not the fastest Model S offered.

Chris Jones Drag Times is biased towards Tesla. The owner of the channel owns a Tesla. Topgear claims they used the old Tesla times because the runs vs the Taycan were slower. So by using the old figures they actually helped the Tesla in addition to making the comparison appear better matched. Topgear was also adamant they did use launch control on the Tesla.

Was launch control and ludicrous mode enabled on the S? There's lots of videos of the latest top end Model S hitting the quarter mile in 10.5 - 10.6 seconds, so an 11.08 feels like it was hindered in some way. I'm admittedly a Tesla fan, and don't doubt the Porsche handles better, and it is a good looking car, but it appears as though things were slightly skewed in the Porsche's favor for that drag race.

Good comparison. Though comparing a 5 year old Tesla architecture against the best Porsche can offer and being £50k plus more surprises me that there were just differences - no real benefit, and with the Tesla charging infrastructure across UK and Europe, I would save myself £50k+ and avoid range anxiety.

Crazy 254 first off, all the ‘claims’ of what they had it set to or not cannot be confirmed, because guess what, neither you nor I were there, so we cannot say exactly how it was setup. It’s all speculation. That point aside, if you haven’t really paid attention to any other races with Teslas, those performance numbers are not achievable without being in ludicrous mode. The car literally doesn’t let you have that performance unless you specifically test it that way. Another point is that if watch this video AND that other test (that German channel) the Tesla got the jump off the line and still lost. The Tesla is very good and still beats 99% of all cars, but the Taycan is made by a sports/super car maker, so these results do not surprise me, regardless of lying accusations and what not. Based on all the facts and all the tests (not just this one) the Taycan is just the better performer in almost every metric (except range obviously)

This indicates they didn’t use the full Ludicrous plus, and most likely didn’t use launch control. Which is odd, since they did in the Porsche. The gauges change when in the ludicrous plus mode, and they didn’t show it in that mode.
