The major roads you drove on are all paved. I was wandering if most of the minor roads are paved as well just as they are in Uyo. It'll be nice to see videos of residential middle class areas with information on rental cost, as well as cost to purchase apartments. Port Harcourt, always in my heart. My father in law had his businesses there for almost 40 years until he passed suddenly at 71 years old. A great man. My husband went to secondary there too and my eldest son went to primary school in Port Harcourt for two years. My family had some amazing times in Port Harcourt and made many memories. We need to return soon and see all these new developments that have taken place. Thank you for another great video David.

The sanitation in PH has not improved in a long time, it could be due to lack of innovation and structured progress. I think sanitation is mainly done on Thursday morning. It needs to be upgraded to be done ever morning or night. But that comes with other costs, like electricity for light at night/morning, security so cleaners are safe and equipments to make it fast and efficient, etc. PH/Garden city really needs to organize sanitation better

If you want to see structures in Odili Road enter the streets. Most of the estates there are gated communities and you may not be allowed to enter neither to video. Some of the estates there are wow, sometimes you'll ask yourself if you are in Nigeria. Only issue with Odili Road estates is you may not be allowed to film.

Impressed Port Harcourt does not have open gutters like you see even in newer parts of lagos. Moat of the streets are also clean. Get a proper garbage disposal system, stop illegal refineries and provide a better environment for businesses like Wike talked about in his 2022 New Year speech and you'll be fine.

I was in Port Harcourt as a 18 year old white kid in 2005. It surely changed after that time i was there. Back in 2005 there where kids on each road selling things, there was trash everywhere and the roads where worse. Is Port Harcourt developning much more then Lagos ? Because i was in Lagos also 2005 and seeing current videos it still has the same traffic and trash issues.

To clarify better... PHALGA (Port Harcourt City Local Government Area) is actually a very small city by Land Mass... But many places identified by people as parts of Port Harcourt are actually inside of Obio Akpor Local Government Area Even in official Documentations, there is always that mix up

@@Emetex Igbo's benefit a whole lot, perhaps more than any other ethnic group in Nigeria! So, it's either that "their" leaders lie to them, or Igbos themselves have a riveting propensity to knowingly indulge in falsehoods and misinformation! Firstly Imo and Abia states also collect the 13% derivatives as oil producing states and in fact Anambra state joined them and got some of its first derivatives payments recently! Of course the derivatives are pro rata, in that the monies received are in proportion to the oils sold! But this has no bearing on the federal allocation that EACH states receives regardless! Igbo people also benefit from going to the four corners of Nigeria including the same Fulani north and plugging in to "market economies" of these various states! However igbo people, for all their cliqueiness as a tribe RARELY collaborate on massive social infrastructure and systems projects! Firstly, most settle ( at least for the duration of their working/ business lives) in the locations they find themselves! They then build unbelievably posh and huge mansions back in their respective villages and towns in the South East. But beyond that, very little is done! Because their individual success is personal! Very few South East state governors since 1999 have focused on building the needed infrastructure to draw external investments into their states! By external, i don't even mean foreign investors, but even business investors from other parts of Nigeria! Igbos "invest" in other peoples places, they build houses wherever they go ( they even have "Eze's" established in the communities anywhere they settle) They build warehouses, they build shops, they build markets.., but nothing goes back to the South East except funds for their personal mansions! When you think that these mansions are visited only a few times a year, and are mostly occupied by their kinsmen, it looks like a waste, because quite often their children born to them in their various locations they find themselves, have no wish to go back and live permanently in the villages! The trick to development across the entire Nigeria is even more education and awareness... the awareness to appreciate that internally generated funds are the way to create and sustain growth in the state! The ongoing agitation for Igbo secession by some dumb heads in the south east is such a huge joke !! These blood thirsty, tribal hating but utterly visionless "leaders" don't care to see that they are toying with a self destruct button! Already the so called ESN have been on a brutish demonic quest to extort money ( for the cause) off professionals, business owners and other persons living in the Southeast! Threatening them and their families with kidnappings, mutilations and death! That bleakness in the Southeast, is only going to get worse!!

It's only PH followed by Obigbo and few scattered urban sprawl in Rivers state. I am happy for PH, I have lived here and call it home. Qatar is extremely beautiful but a city in California like Oakland known for high crime rates and decaying infrastructure still has a bigger GDP and more viable without oil 😆.

But official professional statistics on Nigeria, shows Aba as the 12th state in terms of economic viability in Nigeria , far behind Lagos, Rivers, Delta Kano, Oyo and Akwa Ibom! I actually visited Aba in person for the first time in 2018, I can't speak about now of course since that was some 4 years ago... But Aba was the pits! It was filthy and chaotic beyond belief, and all the fame and the supposed glory of "TaiTwo" hadn't impacted in anyway on the infrastructure! I would have thought all the Southeast states ( and indeed Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom) would have united to rebuild Aba into a humongous industrial hub! Maybe it has changed now, i don't know, but at the time I was sorely disappointed at what I saw! As for unfortunate leadership, you can't blame anyone else for that, out of some 4 million people, Abia people should be able to find persons of note to govern them! We all have far to go in Nigeria as a whole!
