Portal 2 Intro Test

Hey guys - I made this back when we didn't have an SDK and I was learning the Portal 2 engine! While this probably won't make it into a map pack in it's current form I will be using quite a few of it's assets for a co-op campaign I'm developing.

This is definitely the best use of stock voice acting I've seen in any custom map. Love the irony of the cube-and-button line, that's Valve-level humor right there. The map's bloody amazing as well.

this is fucking awesome! especially when you're shown the surface elevator - it's such a magnificent bitch move, and so reminiscent of how the actual game kept taunting you with just-out-of-reach ways out. the musical cues thrown in as well really give it such an official quality that i had to seek this out again after having it shown to me a few weeks ago. tl;dr i'm totally adding you on steam so i can keep updated with whatever you're putting out, this quality is something i want around

This is awesome! Such a cool concept for an intro, it's like the train ride in Half Life. Even though this was 9 years ago, I could imagine it being extended to show off the full scale of the facility and it's destruction since the first game.

but you did defeat GLaDOS at the end of the first portal game so if this were the opening then people would be confused why GLaDOS would be awake.

Well strongly disagree, yes its cool and all but the way things were made in the real version works alot better if you ask me. They threw all the cool stuff in here and its pretty messy and full of "wtf? why am i hear and why is GLaDOS alive" and more. It works ok by itself, but in the context of the hole game its pretty bad. Edit: wait cool its fan made? explains alot XD pretty cool
