Love this version of an old "Luke the Drifter" song. Porter would do a recitation or a gospel song on each show. He was a true entertainer. Saw him several times in person and he was great, the real deal.

@@michaelrhodenhizer4686 And where does it say that Christians don't sin sometimes? The difference is we are sorry about it after we do it and ask the Lord to forgive us and help us sin less. Non Christians usually couldn't care less if what they do is considered a sin.
@Goldenhawk5833 жыл бұрын
@@Dion-rz3fz No we dont care if it is considered a sin or not, We care if we hurt a fellow human or not. While most christians seem to care more about their own glory and throw stones quite callously ( like you did in that comment), us normal , non bibleworshippers, simply care about being nice to eachother. We dont have to check if you think correctly first.

@maryannanderson75174 жыл бұрын
Some people just dislike anything that makes them think, particularly if that thinking might point out some area in their own lives that needs some improvement. I think, unfortunately, all of us have the tendency to by critical and judge others too harshly and this song is quite an indictment against us. Some people can tolerate having one of their flaws pointed out to them and some people can't and I think maybe all those dislikes come from people who fall into that latter category.

This is a song that Hank Sr. did on his Luke the Drifter album. Porter did it on his TV show and it caught on again. He did a pretty good job with the Hank Williams song. It amazes me to see what good talent can do with great material. Porter doing Hank was not a common event.
