I think at some point she did see her child as a child. The way she looked at her baby and remembering all the good times they had together were truly the most precious things in the world to her. A mother who gave birth and raised her child always want best for them. That is what makes it hard, not everything parents know is best for their children. And it grows more harder to accept the fact that they are the ones who will ultimately choose their happiness.

Sometimes it just takes time. Yes parents definitely need to respect their child’s choice to transition but at the same time the child needs to understand that parents will mourn the loss of that child’s identity the way they bore them to this world. In addition unfortunately our world is dictated by religion and heteronormative beliefs.

Elektra's mama is selfish. She needed to realize that even if Elektra never transitioned......he woulda been her SON NOT her HUSBAND!!!! That in and of itself is toxic because even if she never transitioned her mama woulda sabotage any relationship: if "Dwayne" was with a man.....she woulda thought of it as "unholy" and manipulate "him" out of it....and if "Dwayne" was with a woman she would say verbatim :"The only 'man' that's truly mine is leaving me for another woman. IM the ONLY woman who supposed to be in 'his' life!!!" It's a lose-lose-lose situation all the way around. Miss me with that

Dominique Jackson needs the nominations and awards this year! They all do, really! But Dominique has been killing this season, at every scene. Moping every scene. She gave us drama, comedy, tears, campy. Everything we need! We all know she's an ICON in our community, we've been known that for quite sometime. But I feel that regular people and the regular world needs to see her Greatness and the legend that she is. She needs to be in movies, and T V shows, and late night talk shows. People need to pay respect to her.

It starts with just “toning it down a little”… then, before you know it, you’ve COMPLETELY CHANGED for somebody unwilling to compromise because they still don’t accept you

I’ve watched it and cried. This was beautifully played and so realistic. I pray and tell love to all who are going trough this with there parents. But always always be true to your self no matter what they ask. Be you or somthing others pray for. It’s always diggin your grave. But being you is your own respect and self care. Be you. And love and be loved 🙏🏼

My biggest question when looking back at this, was when they could of compromised, Tasha's grounds were: "Maybe if you could tone it down a little." This could mean several things but, I know in the end -- Tasha is a woman who never wanted a child, she wanted a husband or a man to protect her. Elektra was not that, and maybe yes, Tasha and Elektra could of came to a compromise. However, in the end, because of the time period and what Tasha really wanted, Tasha couldn't accept Elektra's identity. This scene was powerful, all parties filled a good role here - Michela, Noma and Dominque. Pose was a really powerful series to watch.

She didn’t want a child. She wanted a husband. It’s a sucky thing for one to project onto their child. Also the GASLIGHTING. “It wasn’t so bad when it was just the two of us.”

Mothers who have abandonment issues with men. But by that same token, if Elektra had been BORN Elektra and transitioned to Duane you know she'd have guilted about always wanting a daughter so she could have a daughter to share with in her old age, etc. Transphobes are never happy so long as trans people ARE happy.

This scene was deep. So many (black) mothers use their sons for protection and love - like pseudo husbands - they don't believe that their (sons) children are entitled to their own lives, their own identity, or their own freedom. In their own twisted minds, they believe that their children signifies ownership and entitlement to their life force. It is crazy deep.

I love when she slips into her Trini accent, then goes right back to her New York accent as if to tell her mother “Yes. Make absolutely no mistake. Everyone will know who I am and who you are to me. There will be no confusion.”

I’m crying from this scene, it hits so close to home.. I’l still live in fear of being who I am because I was raised to “stay safe” & “hide” to the point where I’m scared to Even wear some eyeliner without fearing for my life. I will fight for people that go through the same thing. That’s my purpose 🦋

There are some awful mothers that do this: have sons and expect them to be a substitute husband for them. Even if the son is a straight man, this kind of mother will make sure to ruin every relationship her son has bc she wants him all to herself.

I at 13 escaped from my physically abusive mother, because she could not except me as a transgenderfluid. I would have probably been killed that night if I hade stayed any longer, I'm 16 now and haven't seen or heard from her in 3 years. When I see this scene, I imagine what my mother is feeling, how she is doing, yes leaving her was one of the best chooses in my LIFE. But I don't what to put her through the same pain I went through, because of her I have never and probably ever feel the true love of a parent, I have lost my very hole childhood, and it hurts that I am crying when typing this. I want to fix this, I don't want her hurting like me, the feeling of being alone. When I left her I said that she was nothing but the devil in my eyes, now after this scene, I want to fix this, I still after all of that suffering and pain blood and sweat I still love her, not as a mother, but as a human being, my grandmother, her mother died when she was 10, and 7 out of 14 of her siblings are dead and 4 she has gone missing or moved out in to the world with no contact. She is hurting, I hurting THANK YOU pose, you may just be the reason I will talk to my mother again....Thank you, so very much🙏
