POSITANO: THE QUARANTINE DIARIES - Ep3 Food, photos and our first egg!

Days 14 and 15 in Positano, Italy. We keep ourselves busy, cooking up a storm and painting the whole house! Food supplies arrive from the grocery store and the fishmongers and of course because I bought 12 eggs one of our hens decided to start laying!

I'm loving the cooking demos! Simple, fresh ingredients, love love love it! I got the last box of penne pasta in the store, still can't get mozzarella or real parmesan, so I'll wait. Congrats on the egg, you worked hard to get it! I appreciate the footage of all of the things growing around you, your animals and projects. Hi Maria, I'm Carlo, don't think that Nicki and I use social media only to share part of what we do, and the incredible beauty of this area, we also use them for pleasure, for example I watch dozens of videos on YT di drones, and work tools, and how to build things, plus we are subscribers on Netflix and Prime video, so we are all more or less the same!

Yes please post more videos, I too am enjoying them. I visited the area in 2015 and loved my whole time there. So it's nice to revisit and also see real life there. I live in a small mountain town near Banff in the Canadian Rockies and run a Band B. The whole area which heavily relies on tourism is also shut down, as is of course my business and income. So far Canada is not doing too badly with the virus but seeing Italy suffer is hard to do. Watching your lovely life there with your family, friends, chickens etc is to get swept away from the reality of today.

I went to Sorrento in August and had a day trip to Positano. I completely fell in love with the Amalfi. Coast and have followed you ever since. What a great gift you have of communicating and being so informative and natural. We may all be in lockdown but it’s so nice to go to Positano with you and keep up with you all. Btw I have that top shop skirt, the floral pleated maxi skirt! Glad it will pass muster in Positano!

Hope you get your memory box/photos from your dad's at some point... I spent a few years, when I had the time, sorting mine (my parents brought me them when they visited after my oldest son was born) and putting in scrapbooks/photo albums... I love looking at them with a cup of coffee. I am so happy.. An old friend from Uni days contacted me at the end of last year during second lockdown... I last saw her at my wedding and lost touch. I tried to find her over the years, but due to her job she does not do social media.. But she found me.. Now we have whatsapp video dates and chats.. It's lovely to be back in touch after 15yrs 🤗

Yes, Nicki, my American oven does the same thing as your Italian oven - a huge puff of heat and steam as soon as I open it. 😄
