Positive Input Ventilation (PIV)

I suspect that we are going to come across PIV'S more often when carrying out surveys so I just wanted to share this for the benefit of the less experienced surveyors.

Came across one on a survey recently Neil, however there wasn't adequate means of passive ventilation in the property to allow the system to work efficiently (no trickle vents on windows, air bricks papered or plastered over) so unfortunately the system was recycling moist air within the property and the client still had major condensation problems.

Think I have this problem I turned mine off as all it did was make my landing colder

No one really needs these things they are The Emperor's New Clothes. If you are sensible and have extractors in your kitchen and bathroom and open your windows from time time you will not have a condensation problem.
