Sir, I am diagnosed with grade 1 acl laxity.. My knee movement is not smooth, my knee buckle and pops when flexion at last 10 degree.. Please tell me what to do. Because it hurts and developed grade 1 chondromalecia patella
@waseemsherief3409
@waseemsherief3409 Жыл бұрын
Since your ACL is lax, you could work on your hamstring and strengthen the hamstrings, which cld help in easing the knee flx aswell. Not a professional (YET), just a thought after studying this topic.

Hello sir... Sir it is written in cynthia that quadriceps muscle reduces the strain on PCL at knee flexion angles between 20 to 60 degrees... So what about the other angles before 20 and after 60 degrees... It sounds like gastrocnemius to me as it also initiates with decreasing the strain but later it increases... So in case of quads, is there any chance of increment of strain on pcl if its flexion go beyond 60 degree ? Sir please make me clear about this..

Sir🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺????
@TonysTutorial

Gastroneumius increases the strain only after 40degree because primarily gastroneumius is pushing tibia forward at intial degrees of knee motion, when it pushes forward it induces anterior translation which increases strain on ACL, therefore at intial degrees it strain ACL. Whereas aftr 40 degree when tibia considerably moves posteriorly because of increasing flexion angle it starts to push tiba posterior and thus will strain PCL as Pcl role is prevent posterior translation.

To understand mechanism of quads check out, Durselen L( the influence of muscle forces and external loads on cruciate ligament injuries) its beyond scope of explaining here. Still if u dont get , answers get bck to me , we will figure out...all the best

@saurabhrana356 4 жыл бұрын
Okk sir i will definitely check durselen L But sir my only ques. Is Beyond 60 degrees of flexion... Will the quads increase strain on PCL or not?

I guess u mentioned me you are a 2 nd BPT Student, i would like to get u that the book Cynthia.c norkin is not a book for 2 nd yr undergraduate.It itself is a book for Research followed by Postgraudates and Researches, so most of things like u pointed out are beyond scope of your undrstnding. I m very hppy to see ur curiosity to learn keep it like that and nurture it and now build a base of which u can learn more. I cant just answer an Yes or No because there are studies contradicting, some even contradicts the role of quads in 20-40 degree, some studies say it can decrease and a few say it might increase. So theres no definte answer to it and u can undrstand it when u build some more basics in biomechanics. As from my viewpoint the role of quads in Acl and Pcl is highly complicated we cannot predict it can increase or decrease or dont effect the Pcl beyond 20-40 degree, but we can finalize it can reduce strain between 20-40( that too some contradicts). Great work ...the more u think the less u find answered questions thats learning. And if its for exam point of view you dont have to stdy this as its beyond ur syllabi scope.

If we focus only on quadricep strengthening instead of hamstring it ll more trouble ACL.. n if we focus more on hamstring strengthening instead of quadriceps it ll increase flexion also and trouble PCL also coz PCL gets tight in flexion..
