She was NOT sick, she even reiterated she was dealing w/ travel fatigue from a long flight, tired, but not sick. She even said it recently in an interview. When someone says that about Haley, it means they don't know anything about Haley.... to think she would turn down singing anything on her first professional tour of Europe.... Haley doesn't turn down singing. Along w/ falsely posting that Harry is a 'pop' guitarist, or that Haley was sick, she did not ask out of singing the song for a video. please stop spreading this nonsense.

It’s easy to slip into hyperbole on something like this but I am persuaded any reasonable, rational person could say: for the genre, the song, the performance element, the composition… this was objectively PERFECT. No other artist could have done this better. It’s like watching DaVinci at work. She takes a person’s breath away.

For PMJ Creep fans, Haley officially answers an often mischaracterized ‘fact’ about the recording of their iconic cover of “Creep”: PMj had just done five shows on the road across Europe and she was feeling a little tired But she felt it was that she wasn’t feeling 100% that gave her that extra tug of emotion she needed for the performance. “It’s been five shows, I’m pretty tired, I don’t know about this one….when it comes to those kinds of performances, I always give it 100% but I think emotionally, I was in a different place and really challenging something because I didn’t feel quite 100%, as far as being tired. It’s always really unique because I get to take my own stab and do the vocal arrangement…we’d only done it a few times on the road before that video. Alot of it is very jazz, very impromptu”

I loved your reaction to this! I love Haley and react exactly the same way every time I hear this and her other PMJ stuff, as well as much of her original material. Everything Haley did with PMJ was absolute magic, and this one in particular is one of the two greatest covers of any song ever. Subscribed in hopes of catching some more PMJ/Haley reactions, as well maybe some PMJ/Morgan James (Dream On, Maps). There's also an incredible video of Haley and Morgan casually slaying the Beatles' Dear Prudence in Morgan's living room that is well worth a watch! One other suggestion I'd like to make is not PMJ, Haley, or Morgan - it's Over the Rainbow, by Eva Cassidy. There is a live recording from 1996 that is the other greatest cover song of any song ever. It’s funny she did this in one take & thought it wasn’t good enough at first. She was tired & wasn’t feeling well, but seduced most of the audience watching this. Scary. I know most men are hypnotized not just by her vocals, but by her hand movements- & don’t even realize it. Really spooky, like the Voice in Dune. This shows the real power of feminine.

Diana’s CHFIL rendition may be an epiphany, but Haley’s version is a cash cow. Wrigley’s hired Haley to do an audio track of CHFIL for an already recorded video commercial of Extra gum. Together with Casey Abrams they managed to sync a rendition of the song which garnered her a double platinum album, TV exposure around the world, 400 million hits on Spotify and many private events to perform her rendition. Also, it’s currently one of the most used versions in weddings. Not too shabby.

Can I suggest that you take a look at a 19yr old English girl named Lucy Thomas, start with her cover of Hallelujah as it has recently been used in a movie starring Dennis Quaid called On a wing and a prayer and was actually chosen over Pentatonix's version. She has also just released a new song called Brand new day that has been written as an upcoming TV series theme song. On top of this early next year she will be taking the Lead role in a West End Musical called Rosie that should have been staged in 2019 but had to be cancelled due to Covid. Like many of her followers I believe she is the full package and will be the next big Star vocally we describe her as having the reach without the screech. 😂 check her out I think you'll enjoy her. One last thing she also does some amazing duets with her younger sister Martha and their harmonies are spot on.
