I’d like to imagine papyrus’s hidden strength is a mirror to how powerful sans is. Sans is the only one besides flowey who’s able to remember when resets occur beyond the occasional deja vu. He’s smart enough to game the system and exploit the rules of his world. Trapping the player by simply never ending his turn, or dodging attacks by just…moving out of the way. What I’m getting at is that sans is mental might, while papyrus is physical might

I want to comment on so much here...I'll pick one: The Genocide route never felt "edgy" to me. Since I started with the Pacifist-Run I learned to love all those lively and colourful characters, not only the main cast, but the standard mobs all the same. I felt horrible and empty when I went back and did the genocide run. Those where my friends and I ultimately betrayed them.

Undertale pacifist > genocide is the epitome of you either die the hero or live long enough to become the villain. Genocide is bleak and empty. The only people who enjoy it are lorehunters and maybe diehard completionists. No one even remembers the story beyond "fight Sans" and "Chara or somethin" because it's just that uneventful and unfulfilling. Genocide is the opposite of edgy. It's the representation of overconsumption, greed, morbid curiosity, the consequences of your actions, and a million other ways to read into it. Anyone who thinks it's edgy either somehow missed the point by the distance across the Milky Way, or has only seen fan content. (Let's be real, I've been in the fandom including AU space for around 4 years now, and the fans are very edgy somehow.)

So, About the 4 horsemen Onceler is Famine(for obvious reasons), Bill and alastor both can be attributed to either war or conquest, but i think Bill is closer to conquest(since he wanted to take over the universe) and Alastor is war (he fought and captured many people, but he rarely killed them so i don't think he is death) . That leaves Sans as death which is... uh, fitting? And the fact that it fitts makes me even more pissed
