The Cat-Cow yoga pose is a supportive posture that increases the flexibility of the neck, shoulders, and spine. It also stretches the muscles of the hips, back, abdomen, and chest, and strengthens the spine. This stretch activates the tailbone and releases tension in the neck and upper back.
How to Do Cat-Cow
1. Starting Position:
o Keep your hands shoulder-width apart and your knees directly below your hips.
2. Cow Pose:
o Inhale deeply while curving your lower back and bringing your head up.
o Tilt your pelvis up like a "cow."
3. Cat Pose:
o Exhale deeply and bring your abdomen in.
o Arch your spine and bring your head and pelvis down like a "cat."
4. Repetition:
o Repeat several times.
This sequence helps in increasing flexibility, reducing tension, and promoting spinal health.
