I couldn't read the product description description of the type of paint you were using the lettering was too light. Is there water in the tray and are you using oil base paint?

There is just water in the tub, in which you add the oil base paint also known as enamel paint. You will be able to get it from a hardware store. The paint was made thin by adding kerosene oil to it.
