Put a palm sander on the edge to agitate it and get the air out quickly, then you can hit it with the torch and walk away for your weekend off.

But try setting a cup of coffee on it! Somebody doesn't understand glass transition temperature. Never use epoxy counters in a kitchen unless they are cured in an oven!

Epoxy is extremely not degradable. It shouldn't be used so often and for fun. Therefore there should be a big big tax on epoxy materials.

Put a shaker under the table. Shake the epoxy down into all the cracks and get all the bubbles to the top

Idea, same thing, but don’t over flow the blue epoxy, add tree and greenery to the wood, and then add clear epoxy to create a biome in your table, while still having it fuctional

He will plane the top layer so it looks like he got everything perfectly filled not just the visible cracks

I'll never understand how people can use epoxy counteracts. Epoxy isn't scratch or cut resistant nor is it stain resistant and it will dull and being to yellow if sun is on it for a few hours a day. I've tried all the best epoxy and it all does the same eventually. Imagine the bacteria it can hold to..

Mask. Yes. But if that is just a dust mask which it does appear to be, does not protect against VOC's. You need a canister mask designed for what you are working with.

Why the torch?? It's the CO2 from the torch that releases the bubbles not the heat! Just use a CO2 tank.

All these fad unmilled wood slabs with resin are going all end up in the landfills by 2026. We had pickled furniture in 50’s -gone We had wall paper 80’s -gone We had faux finish 90’s -gone We had 2 tone rooms early 2000’s -gone We had toxic resin tables 2020’s -soon to be gone

I’m no table specialist 🤔 but something tells me that the initial design was not supposed to be a resin table filled with slabs of wood inside. You always got to have a Plan B just in case Plan A fails.😂

A few months ago someone had an idea for making resin appear like a lagoon.on a table. Now there are more guys who have buckets but not a whole lot of new ideas. And no shots of what these islands look like three months later.

It's not supposed to. All of the epoxy on the top and bottom of the slab will be removed to expose the wood

I've heard of so many people ordering these kids of products and getting crap. Not from these guys but from several other sources. It's sad that you even have to worry about where you order expensive things from online 😕

Does anyone have an issue with drying time? I mixed both components thoroughly for 4 minutes, poured the epoxy, and three days later, there are still some sticky spots. Is that normal?

Yes, full cure time is about a week or so. That sounds about normal for a deep pour epoxy like this.

You fill cracks with a syringe not by over pouring and charging your client for the waste

This slab had hundreds of tiny worm holes, going through and filling each one with a syringe would cost more in time than over pouring a little bit of epoxy. On another note, I don't sell anything that I make so overpouring a bit saves a lot of time.

So what do you do when there are tons of hairline cracks on the surface that neeed to be filled? You pour a little over the whole slab to fill them.
