Where do I start: the videography of this channel is one of the best not only from clarity standpoint but also the perspectives offered. The amount and quality of work done is also second to none. What on earth can't you do? I've never seen a genius like you! Civil engineering, electrical systems, control technology, filming, welding-you’re fluent in perfect English even though you're supposedly from Sweden. I don’t know how old you are, but every single piece of work you deliver feels so professional and efficient, as if you’ve been doing it for the past 40 years, yet you’re clearly not 60 years old, haha. What I’ve learned so far takes so much time to master, but you’ve nailed it all so perfectly - huge respect man!

There is no channel where I press the like button and then watch the video and I'm never disappointed. Last time I watched the 5 hour marathon and didn't skip a second. I can't even explain why these videos are so captivating. I think it's because you see the progress, how something is created. An inner need that wants to be satisfied. I am self-employed, some of the things I do today will only bear fruit in many years. That is sometimes very tiring. I wish I had the time, the space, the equipment and the skills to build such a garage. 😊

It's interesting to see the differences needed for this in the cold compared to where I'm from in New Zealand. It gets snowy and cold occasionally here in the South Island, but not for long and not usually ice at all. Having to insulate the ground around the slab to prevent it creeping under and the heating cable for setting the concrete is not something we ever have to do here

33:50 Inside the cable there is resistance wire, think Kanthal A1 or Nichrome 60 or 80 etc. Similar to what you have in your toaster for example. Which is a certain resistance per meter. If you shorten the heating cable, let's say to half, you cut the resistance in half, effectively increasing the power beyond what the insulation is designed for or current beyond what the plug can handle.
@LagittajaАй бұрын
I remember you have done electrical work before so I'm not aiming the following at you but for everyone else who's interested. Let's say the cable is 50 meters long and it's 3500W at 230V. I = 3500W / 230V = 15.21A R = 230V / 15.21A = ~15,12ohms per 50m or roughly 0.3ohms per meter. Cable cut in half is ~15,12ohms / 2 = ~7,56ohms I = 230V / 7,56ohms = 30,42A P = 230V * 30,42A = 7000W

To explain further @ 33:20 the resistance wire is set to a certain length so as to not overheat. Shortening the wire would decrease the overall resistance and increase the heat of the wire, possibly damaging the concrete cure.

Brilliant video. What is this “sea heat” system? I’ve never heard of this type of system 😊
@erik....Ай бұрын
The heat pump generates heat from the fluid inside the pipe (instead of from the air like many heat pumps but they are not as efficient in very cold climate). Then the lake warms up the fluid a bit again while it's pumped around. It's called geothermal heating.
@M.BJOERNSTROEMАй бұрын
I'm going to do a video covering that. But It's a method of using the heat from the lake to keep the garage warm during the winter.
@vmlinuz10Ай бұрын
It's a water to water heat pump system. Similar to geothermal but instead of the ground it uses a large water reservoir (the lake).
@JoshgiddensАй бұрын
@@M.BJOERNSTROEM that’s pretty impressive. Looking forward to seeing this system 👍
@tokslutАй бұрын
@@Joshgiddens Normal system here in the Nordic countries, my heat system goes straight down in the rock. the hole is 656 feet / 200meters deep straight into the rock and is heating my house and garage. Last year it used ~8.000kWh (for 180m²/ 1,937ft² to heat it (floor heat everywhere) here in the Snow country (Latitude 59°20'04.5"N Stockholm)
