Went on it in the late 1950s, a thrill! As it comes down the other side, you can see the Verrazzano Bridge, Manhattan, Staten Island. Also went on the original Steeplechase. Now it's a roller coaster. ^_^

I’ve been on this colored cart on the Wonder Wheel once back in 1998 and I was freaked out. They did the same for Mickey’s Fun Wheel at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, CA where it’s a carbon copy of Wonder Wheel, which is now called Pixar Pal Around.

My great grandfather Charles Herman Garms built and owned the “ Wheel “ as it was called by family until it was sold by his son my great uncle Freddy in the early 80s to Deno. I spent many seasons on and off seasons working there.

Who's here after watching Wonder Wheel on Netflix ? I was curious after seeing a clip of it working toward the end of the film, I've never seen a big wheel able to do this before.

It's called an eccentric wheel, basically a tiny roller coaster guiding each of the swinging cars. The great thing about this one is it has bunny hops. There's one at Disney California Adventure but it just has straight sections of track between the "turnarounds".

I grew up within walking distance of the Wonder Wheel it was great if you can get on when they were having fireworks and you had your best girl with you and just kickback smoke a joint and enjoy the ride.
