To those as clueless as I was during my first time viewing this here’s an in-depth breakdown of the metaphor this masterpiece masks : Mickey Mouse is finally going to be free for use as he will be released to the public domain. Which is where this paranoia is coming from. The scratching Mickey hears is the public that is already using the property under fair use, it irritates and aggravates Disney as they feel they shouldn’t have to give their merchandise up for free use. When mickey says they’ll take it from me and that how he has to build a theme park is how Disney interprets their fear of losing Mickey as a property since their branding around the character is so synonymous with the Disney name. Mickey saying he’s pregnant with ideas and potential is the same rhetoric that Disney makes whenever disputes over the copyright come up. Even though they rarely use the property in newer and more substantial creative mediums. When Minnie criticizes Mickey for being cooped up in his cage it is a jab at how Disney has failed to return Mickey to his once insanely popular relevancy and has now become a relic of the past. *The wheel is a representation of the wheel of creation and is a mother criticism of how Disney has failed to produce any mainline brands that have been as revolutionary and culturally significant as Mickey once was. Mickey asking for Minnie’s delivery date is an easy metaphor for how Disney is fearful of losing their property to public domain The commentary about dinner and how Minnie’s throwing away valuable resources is a jab at how Disney has failed to create any new properties that have been as critically acclaimed in the past as well as recycling old properties in very obvious cash grabs that are literally about as good as piss. The commentary about the 1 billion Chinese is another jab at how Disney will go out of their way to whitewash their advertising and actual movies in order to appeal towards audiences overseas. This can be seen in posters for Star Wars and Marvel as well as some alternate cuts in films. The Mickey asking how many have been put in the walls is a metaphor for how many people have used this character in off brand transformative creations as well as a metaphor for Disney’s fear of how many other parties would like to use the character for their own purposes. Mickey commenting about how he can do anything he wants is another jab at how cutthroat the corporate of Disney has become seeing as how they have gone literally buying out their competition and monopolizing the majority of the entertainment industry. Finally Mickey eating the rats in the walls is a symbolic representation as to how Disney has attempted to repress any free use of the property by whatever means necessary. *this might be a stretch along with my breakdown of the wheel but Minnie is also a representation of the public and other creative entities outside of Disney as she is depicted as the mother of all the rats and is a voice of reason saying how Mickey should be free use allowing himself to go outside and become public domain. If I am wrong at any point in this breakdown please feel free to critique and reply to this as I feel everyone should be allowed to enjoy this incredible meta commentary that these artists have made.

At this point, Congress might as well just make an amendment to copyright law that says that all Disney created characters (This doesn't include stuff from other studios that Disney bought out) are permanently exempt from going to the public domain, and then put the copyright limit back to 20 years after the author dies. @poopbuDDiesfan2 жыл бұрын
@@blenderguy2935 This is due to the Confucius institute. Basically their job is to scare these kids and tell them not to make friends, to try and keep them from learning too much from other non Chinese students or forming negative opinions about their government. So they put on events that they basically require the Chinese students to go to and only them, have them attend private study halls and punish them if they do things they do not like such as be seen socializing with black people or not being seen socializing enough at their events. My roommate was from China and he was scared of these people and did not want to go back. In hindsight it was pretty clear he was trying to set himself up to not have to, his uncle lived here. He stopped going to events and was socializing more with me and foreigners here and the rest of the time he’d be in his dorm gaming. I actually had a few interactions with other Chinese students and most of them somehow knew this guy was my roommate and I was asked by them several times who his friends are and why he isn’t socializing with them as though I was his minder. It’s a mixed bag, some kids are rebellious obviously and I made quite a few Chinese friends. But they were also honest with me about these problems, and racial problems too. What they were told to expect when coming to America, whites are monkeys and black people are dangerous. Depends on where you grow up just how racist your socialization may be, same as here. But it is certainly institutionalized and taken overseas. My roommate unfortunately went ‘missing’ as well during the middle of the year. I saw him once like 3 years later randomly, and he saw me and ran up to me and hugged me and cried, we talked for a bit but I never saw him again and he wouldn’t tell me what happened to him.

Another great animation from the boys. Very reminiscent of the Creation of the Greek Pantheon. Kronos father to Zeus, had learned of prophecy that said one day one of his children would overthrow him. So as a result he would have Rhea (I think can't remember) bring him every newborn child and Kronos would eat them. By the time Zeus and his brothers Poseidon and Hades were born, Rhea came up with a plan to trick Kronos. Rhea would have Zues smuggled out of their home and sent to live with a group of Nymphs (can remember exactly what they were) until he became of age. Then Zeus would return to face his father. Rhea would poison Kronos's drink, and when Kronos ingested the poison, he would begin to regurgitate Zeus's siblings. Then with his Brothers Poseidon and Hades, Zeus would imprison his father in Tartarus and overthrow the rest of the Titans, establishing the Olympians as the Dominant Pantheon.

I read it was another Titaness, Metis, who helped Zeus by giving Cronus the emetic. Metis was then Zeus's first wife. And then of course Zeus learned that one of his own children would overthrow him -- and so he swallowed Metis when he found out she was pregnant. 'Cause it worked so well for Cronus, y'know? Zeus got headaches and in the end Hephaestus had to split his head open -- and that's where Athena came from.

So if I'm seeing this right: Mickey is extremely paranoid he will lose copyright of Disney products and since there is little originality in the world, he plans on recycling everything, but in reality there is a lot of unique ideas made, but they were hidden away, presumably by Minnie and she births a kid(idea) and when micky finds out he snaps and tried to claim the ideas as his own?

I always imagined that this is what Mickey and Disney has become and I imagined the sad arguments Minnie would try in vain to talk him out of his insanity. You really made the idea manifest way better than what I could come up with. Long gone were the glory days when I looked up to Disney as a happy place I could enjoy. Disney and Mickey, no longer are the heroes of this story of life. They have ironically fallen to darkness, in a way worse than Kingdom Hearts.

I mean, look at them... they seem pretty nice. *An ocean of questionable people that are outside the gates of Disney, growling, snarling and even foaming from the mouths as well as they scratched at the mountain edge of Disney's gates.* Mickey: No! No! Not like this! I'm not going to be in that- Disney: oh yes you are. You are gonna work us up by being a public domain and you are going to like it or not. Now... *Shoves Micky to the edge* Be a good lil mouse and make us richer. Mickey: *holding dear life.* No!! Please no!! I'm begging you!!!!!! Disney: *grabs at Mickey's hands.* .... think happy thoughts. End-
