I've been power shotting for a few years now (& didn't know it). I first tried it with a 1/2 oz weight on the Detroit River to compensate for the heavy currents. It worked so well that I now use it on Lk St Clair and Lk Erie. It just plain WORKS.

Ive been doing well putting a coffee tube on a drop shot with 3/8 casting sinkers. Texas rigged paddle tail drop shot and 3/8 also catches em.

Thanks Z! I'm from up in the northwest and I drop shot a ton. I mean my PB largie and smallie have came off of drop shotting a KVD Dream shot where others would use a crankbait or a jig. Never gone up to a 1/2 or 3/4 oz weight though. Ill definitely give it a go after seeing those GIANTS.

How do you tie on the weights that have that pinch and why the pinch? Those never made sense to me.

Hey Z started fishing clear water lakes more here recently , kindly new to dropshotting , what you recommend for a general length between your bait & weight ?
@treyferguson79434 жыл бұрын
He says he normally uses 12 inches between hook and weight. Hes said that few times on his shows. I use longer and shorter depending on how fish are set up but 12 to 18 inches is pretty standard. Unless your skipping under docks or bed fishing then you would shorten it up.

Load up to 1/2 oz my friends!! Z has spoken and continues to dish out the dirt!! In this case is very helpful tip to get more reaction bites. Thanks Z!

Does the extra weight hanging help the fish throw the hook? Good video z and that's some awesome smallies
@NorthernMike4 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't. I power shot also and the only thing I notice is that when you get the fish out of the water you have to be careful of them shaking because that 1/2 oz tungsten can really get whipped around.
