I feel ya. Mama passed away and they buried her on Valentine's Day 15 years ago. My only-est Valentine anymore. My sister managed to save a recording of Mama saying "I love you!" to my niece, we all cry when we hear her voice. When she was here, I took her nearly every week to eat at her favorite cafeteria, and with all that food, and she made it a point to pick food off my plate. She would just laugh, tell me she was getting all the food back that I took off her plate as a kid. She would get me, a grown man, to take her to a fabric store, carry all her yarns and fabrics to make blankets and pot holders. What I would not give to do all that every day now. Chad is a good son, spending all that time with Mama.

This is exactly how i would end up with cars sitting around and then strip and disassemble them for derby cars and i would usually get the engine and transmission and radiator and starter along with the assortment of hardware and bracketry for stripping out the derby cars, and i couldn't tell you how many gm 79-88 full size vans and the 76-79 Chevy 4dr novas for the drivetrain and all of the bolts and hardware and i would also end up buying used vehicles like 70's and 80's gm vehicles for the same parts and i would have enough acquired parts and hardware and bracketry for when a project vehicle show up not if,or id have enough stockpile for trading for the ones i need for the said project i was working on,or end up trading for something else i have the parts and pieces to make it useable with most of what i already had so yeah whether i actually needed the drivetrain at the time i didn't usually turn them down or hardly ever get rid of parts unless i was helping out buddy's or friends and family or get the parts i needed to finish the project vehicle i was messing with.. and several of them have been field vehicles sitting around and junkyard buys and trade deals and i have traded around for it vehicles before to buy ive gotten some interesting scores by dealing with the wrecking yards

Don't forget about a vent for your fuel tank. You could likely use a vented tractor cap on that neck. Also, with the battery mounted in the car like that it would be a good idea to run a sealed battery with an external vent. I love what you do and watch every week.

Turns out my liver couldn't detox and clear up anything. I severely reduced red meat for about 2 months. Too much protein. My liver fired back up and my knee is WAY better since. And for gods sake fella git ya some knee pads. Yessir

Man, I had to cut a bunch of pieces of angle iron for some crawl space vents and it nearly destroyed me. The shape was like your battery tray, only inverted, so the flange faced outward instead of inward. I had a five gallon bucket filled with offcuts because there are fifty ways you can cut two inch angle iron, but only two of them are right. I welded some expanded steel over the opening and got them powder coated. They turned out pretty good. I can't remember how I did it though. :)

Nice work! I figure those drums are about ready for the scrap yard. That battery holder, I would take a hose or tube and put the metal bracket inside to insulate it, or just move the battery hold down posts a 1/4 or 1/2 inch further away from the battery posts. They got that rubber stuff you can dip the handles of your tools in to, maybe dip the hold down bracket. Just some idee-ers. I love this old car, surely some old collecter has some drums in a junk pile somewhere. Prolly want to rob your wallet though, if they are that hard to find.
