MKBHD lost his credibility a while ago, I bought OP13 after his recommendation and man OP13 is an awful phone, camera is awful, battery started draining quickly after 3 weeks of no issues. Overall its awful compared to OP 7 pro.

Ironically when the Powerbeats Pro first came out I remember thinking how PERFECT the design was, that it would keep them firmly on the ears when moving about, and yet now as the version 2 is released so many years later it feels a bit dated. I still love that something good exists with that form factor for those that need it but it does have a bit of an old-fashioned feel. That light is icky though. I hope it only lights up when using the heart rate (or maybe connecting), because it would be distracting as heck otherwise.

For me, the hooks are essential. Other buds just don’t fit, so do these, but the hooks make a huge difference: They can’t fall into the next puddle. Now with ACN, could be worth it.

"Underwhelming" is applicable to everything the beats brand has ever produced. It has always been a company that sells only because of the brand name. Remember when they used to put fake weights inside their headphones to make it heavier to appear more "premium"? lmao

As a wheelchair user these are a GOD SEND! AirPods falling out are 10x harder to pickup. If they roll under a table 🪦. “911 what’s your emergency” “so you know how you send firefighters to get cats stuck in a tree? I just ordered a pair to replace my wife's malfunctioning gen 1s for the physical controls. She's been using my Shokz since her current ones started messing up and she hates not having physical controls.Definitely pricey compared to how much the gen 1s have been discounted for the last few years, but for everything but the HR monitor she won't use it sounds like a pretty good upgrade

I remember the last time a pair of wireless earbuds I owned that had heart rate monitors in them.. The Samsung Gear IconX from 2016... At the time they were part of the Gear fitness line so it... Sort of... Made sense to have heart rate monitors in the buds... But the problem with those sensors was that it drained the battery like crazy and they immediately took them out for the next gen version of those and I haven't seen a pair of buds include them ever since... Which begs the question as to why they bothered in these brand new fitness buds.. When basically nobody else does it, or if they did in the past they quickly got rid of it...

Not being critical but Dave is right on mark by saying he is underwhelmed but also he is not the target audience for this product and amongst hardcore gym goers and professional athletes I can say from experience that they are committed to the brand and the Beats signature bass heavy sound. For the ANC part any workout ready headphone should technically not drown the outside world completely and always give way to a little bit of ambient environment sound for maintaining situational awareness. Especially if someone is jogging or exercising outdoors. I have personally used and was working for a retail store some time ago and have sold beats branded headphones to lots of athletes and customers who want them for their workouts and they have the look and sound they want for that purpose.

I feel like one of the primary advantages of Apple/Beats is the integration and fast switching with Apple devices - that’d be my reason to pay the premium for one of their products. Much easier for my wife to switch to her AirPods for a phone call than it is for me to switch to my Bose earbuds

I’m concerned about the durability of the hooks. I’ve owned previous revisions (including Beats Fit) and the rubber comes apart with time. When you’re paying $250, it needs to be durable.

The hooks should be very durable. My PBP1 is in better condition than the Fit Pro and I bought both near their release dates. PBP1 has issues, but the hooks are fine.

@ Beats just put out a video on their page stating they redesigned the hook completely with this new revision and it’s supposed to be much more durable. You can find the video on their channel.

I use my apple watch to track my workouts, but sometimes its heartrate sensor can go out for a few minutes due to sweat etc. Would love if these could be a backup heartrate monitor and report it directly to my watch during my run & to apple fitness after. But sounds like its totally standalone, and doesn't turn on while you have a watch on right? Seems like a missed opportunity :(

It’s been years since, but I was never able to find a bud tip that stays in my ear. Even the smallest tips were too big to nestle securely in my ears. Maybe it’s different now, but I can’t afford to experiment. Ear hooks always, even if overpriced.

How is it that still many people say that Airpods Pro 2 have amazing ANC? It doesn't. It used to at the beginning, but after several firmware updates the ANC is just ok on most kind of noises. For instance in the gym: When I put them in at first, it was quiet. The gym music: gone. The voices: gone. I had to take them out to talk with someone. Now I can talk to everybody with ANC on and higher pitches noises or music is audible. So - Airpods Pro 2 ANC is now only a 7.5 out of 10.

So, this is another typical costly Apple product with nothing significantly new. It looks whach at first sight. Very big case, unimportant heartrate sensor features (there are smartwatches for it & people use it anyway), not very stylish at all. Soundcore has way better earbuds than this in better compact form. Pass.

They are not for everyone. These cater for those in the Apple ecosystem. I get that people have an anti-Apple agenda, but they should realise that there are millions of these sold and that people loved the older version and will buy this as a replacement.

I bought the first version and its awful - audio is only just as good as the $10 Panasonic wired ear buds, the charging pod doesnt work sometimes leading to one bud charging to 100% and leaving the other at 5%. Doesnt easily get the buds charging.

AirPods just fall out of my ears no matter what tips so I always get ones with hooks. I just don't find ear buds worth more than $100. I take my wife's old AirPods Pro USB-C and just not impressed. Happy with cheap $50 ones that aren't a big deal if they get stolen. The mics suck so bad I would avoid using them at all costs.
