Partly because of this video I searched out dealers in my state that carry Maruyama, I have a few dealers in the area but only one stocks the trimmers. I stopped in a demo’d a B27L Turbo and left with one. It’s too bad that such a good brand is so unknown, even in the lawncare industry. I’ve only put a couple tanks of gas through it so far but I absolutely love it, my Stihl FS94 is now up for sale! Thanks for the review!

@@JeffCarsboatsatvs I just bought a Echo 3020t about a week ago. My Sthil 131r kicked the bucket on me with a cam gear failure (4 mix) and I wanted to get away from a 4 mix system. The 3020t blows the 131r out of the water on torque. It does seem to take more fuel though. But that's a great trade off when it comes to the less failure points and more reliability and more power.

I purchased a second Maruyama (B30L) last year to replace a previous Maruyama that I had used for over 30 years. They are such a reliable machine that I searched for a place where I could buy another when my first trimmer wore out. Like you say, they're not readily available. This is my first experience with the head that you can thread and wind. I like this feature but have found it to be very hard to remove the head when necessary. Your video made it look easy, but I have found it to be quite hard to press the 2 tabs and have it come free from the head. I don't know if there is something I am doing wrong, but it almost makes me regret buying this new Maruyama. Do you recommend applying WD40 or something similar to the internals to make it easier to remove?
@PowerEquipmentMan
@PowerEquipmentMan 3 жыл бұрын
I have never had any issues getting the head apart on these, but then again I have fairly strong hands from being a mechanic. I would not recommend spraying any lube on the head. The only reason you should ever have to disassemble the head is if the string gets stuck inside, otherwise these is no need to remove the cover just to rewind the head. You could also try a replacement head for it, one I use from Oregon is 55-985 amzn.to/3vvSvDU

@@PowerEquipmentMan Thanks for your response. Maybe I just need to do some hand exercises to get these old man hands a little stronger. Question: is this replacement head (the Oregon 55-985) similar to the Maruyama head? Does it feed and wind in a similar fashion?

@PowerEquipmentMan 3 жыл бұрын

@@kentheaps2115 The Echo - Speed-Feed 400 and the Shakespeare - MAX Load PRO Trimmer Head (Available at Lowes & TSC) are both very popular universal trimmer heads which use the same line loading concept. Personally, I'm aiming on picking up the Shakespeare item soon, myself. Not that I need it but spares are good to have. I've owned a B30L Turbo for four years now. I'm 44 yro, 6' 3" and even I have a hard time reaching my fingers to push both tabs. It seems ironic, because one doesn't imagine Japanese hands being very large either, but what do I know, I'm in Kentucky.

I just got a B 270 L turbo. So far, I am very disappointed. I’ve been in business for over 20 years. I have a Maruyama blower that starts on the first or second pull. This thing takes 8 to 10 cranks to start whether it’s cold or hot. I haven’t checked the spark plug yet for the gap to see if it’s correct. And the trigger handle is held on with springs so it’s constantly rotating very weird design. There’s no way of tightening it, so far I give it a fail.

Eco (does the job well done, and spare parts easy to get.) 5. (Hitachi / Metabo, Tanaka are the same, they are fast, they do not weigh much, and very capable, they are the underdog) 6.Huskvarna is like Hyundai, they have good technology but sometimes it is a risk) 7.RedMax had a good quality and is a balanced trimmer but I don't see professionals using them) 8.TORO It depends which model you buy, to get the job. 9. Going at half throttle burning less gas is actually not good for your trimmer, too much carbon build up, which will cause you to lose power, and will drive you nuts cause everything you diagnose will check out, so many people don't know this, they're designed to go at full throttle, thats how they run at their peak performance
