That would be AMAZING! I literally live for everything EVH related on KZbin lol!

I'm glad you give his playing the respect it deserves. So many kids out there don't understand why he's the King. Most of these kids parents weren't born in 1975 when he was making the demos that have most of the stuff for the first 4 albums. Hey kids this was before KZbin, Internet and online programs that will teach you how ever slow you want to break it down to learn it. In 1980 I ordered a cassette tape and a pamphlet of tabs to learn some 10 second licks off of VH 1 and 2. Yes over 40 years later people are still breaking it down and its AWESOME. And save the "ok boomer" comments because being 13 in 1978 was the bomb.

I’ve always said that “I’m The One” is the blueprint for 90% of Eddie’s trick bag. It also showcases how mind blowing the entire band was for their age, especially in the context of 1978. There is so much “big band” and jazz influence in that tune, something I miss in today’s rock landscape.

Some say EVH is overrated... ha try to play with his vibe. And oh when's the last time these critics changed the face of rock guitar.?? Also look at the contributions he made with the instrument . The D Tuna the humbucker in the the strat configuration. The low friction and high friction pots. And God knows what else. The technique and composition. I say LONG LIVE THE KING 🎸EVH🎸

@HomeSchooler94 I was a young soldier in France and on a sunday morning, in the squadron (Air Force base in Nimes) , a fellow played in the corridor , when we all were aslept, with his radio K7 player "Eruption" loudly :-D, never heard it before and it absolutly blowed my mind !!!! :-) The other fellows was upset but me! ^^ Since this moment, I became a fan for life! :-)

In the pantheon of guitar heroes there are hundreds of great players, each with a unique style, each with a unique contribution to the development of the art of rock guitar. But EVH is simply in a class by himself - he's just a step above all the rest. Like Hendrix before him (his only arguable equal in terms of inventiveness), he created an entire new language for the electric guitar. He's the most innovative guitarist in history - his influence on technique and tone are simply incalculable. He is to rock guitar as Einstein is to physics. He's a genius. He has no equal and never will.
@danh77393 жыл бұрын
EVH was playing in a 3 piece band, he had a huge amount of sonic space to fill even with Alex playing double bass drums. Without the guitar going all the time there'd be a huge hole in the music. It's astonishing how crafty, exciting, and resourceful, he was creating his parts. He has rhythm, harmony, melody and feeling, all going on at the same time He was a musical genius

@mikefairchild50594 жыл бұрын
The first lick is similar to what I call the "Aeo-Dorian" scale that I use to cop the Eddie vibe in my soloing. Because the only note that changes is the 6th, in fast runs, they can be inter-changed at will to create long, smooth runs. The 1-2-4 fingering pattern can be moved around to create other combo scales such as the "Mixo-Dorian" where the only note that changes is the 3rd.

What you said about taking the idea...that's what every player should be doing. Not copying note for note. That is the fast way to killing any style of your own. Everybody copies, that is a given. The idea has always been to take that nugget you learn and explore.

@2hi2dye4 жыл бұрын
Because its a lesson in "licks" not tone. I'm guessing that's probably why. And unless everyone's got the same high end gear he's using its simply a waste of time and a bunch of flibba flabba that people always complain about when there's too much talking on the video....
@CentaurusRelax3144 жыл бұрын
@@2hi2dye It takes no 'video time' to overlay gear information or to list them in the Notes section. And with EVH tone, yeah, i think a lot of people are quite concerned with getting the precise tone. It's a part of the music itself.
