Looks Great!!! Two things I would suggest, would be look into a dual on board charger for your batteries and run the plug in to the side of the console so you can plug it in to charge your batteries when not using it. Also would recommend looking into Lithium batteries. With Lithium you could spend all day on the water and not worry about how much charge your batteries are. It gonna get old fast having to open the compartment up and attaching a charger to the batteries every time they need charged.
@realdealryan2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Onboard charger with plug in the fence dockside was a game changer for me. I think we got ours from Noco

Lithium cells offer a way worse cost/capacity ratio! He can get way more capacity on Lead ones and hence be out on the water much longer than with equally expensive Li-FePo4.

Comming along sooo nicely ! Tip (learned the hard way), NEVER start an outboard motor without running water first, you can burn out that rubber water pump impellor in seconds

Wym? He used water when he started the motor? I assume you saw that. Why give a “tip” when Zack did it correctly anyways?
@cityislandrowing82662 жыл бұрын
@@benbellino3596 Watch closely, there is no water running when he starts it, it runs for a while (and I think there is an edit/jump cut to when water actually starts flowing. But it's not running when it starts.

I'd probably put some back railing up top so you can only fall off the sides and not on to the back of the boat and motor. Also you could pull those lower pontoon side panels you installed last and paint those to match the motor. I think that would really look good and tie in the motor to the boat without doing too much.
@cameronsmith45272 жыл бұрын
Good idea about giving the boat the the same color as the motor. Something like some stripes might look good too. Black and a desert tan like that is a good combo, just needs to be tied in well.

I think you should put a cover for the tank breather so that water don’t get in or you can do a coil loop so that there’s the water just stay in the loop and don’t contaminate your fuel. Let me know what you think. Just a suggestion to help you out so that your engine don’t stall in the middle of the lake or ocean. Cheers!! Love your videos btw! Keep’em coming! 🍾🤙🏼🤙🏼

Dude it looks awesome! Don’t beat yourself up about the welding, aluminum is a pain in the ass. My steel welds don’t look that good! The only thing I would recommend is in the fire pit cover the elements with whatever stone you’re using. The more stone you cover them with the more the fire will dissipate the over the area. It will help tone the flames down (they won’t blow around as harshly in the wind) and will look better (I made a fire patio table out of an old metal sandbox and found the more stone on top the better).

You should convert the 2 other wooden wine barrels into an engine cover. You can put two halves together to make an oval shape. I have seen it done on twin outboards on a houseboat in Lake Shasta. It looked so good. On top, it had the American Flag stained.

Nice Build! Just wanted to tell you, that even that short start without a water connection was likely to destroy your impeller in the lower unit, which pumps the water. If it runs dry for just a few seconds, it is enough to melt down your impeller because of friction. It's a pretty quick and simple thing to check and/or replace, did it my self too. Greetings from Germany :)

@DILLIGAF652 жыл бұрын
Excellent paint job on the engine, color may seem off but I think it's because there is so much of a blank area under the cover, putting some type of decal in the middle section (possibly your channel name) would add some color to it and not concentrate so much on the tan color. Maybe adding an off color to the middle area like you have done before would break up the solid color on it now.
