I feel the same, my grandpa is a great bodyman, doesnt do it really nowadays, and my dad and him were a mechanical engineers, ive had some cool conversations with them. I remember being young talking to my dad about how cams and valve timing works, and how differentsls worked, how bombs from the airforce he worked on worked, and he always explained in different ways and got more advanced as i aged. He probably has more knowledge he hasnt shared, i love him. Great dude

The headers facing upward isn't just for turbos. In a s10 frame BBC headers require some work to get them in there. Even sbc headers are a tight fit. I have a sbc blazer and my headers almost rest on the frame. Couldn't imagine BBC headers. It's a fitment thing

Vortec engines get their hp from a hotter cam. Yes GM change the design of the heads but they had less swirl than before. Because they went to central port fuel injection. They didn’t need swirl anymore to mix air with fuel.

I was thinking the same thing in regards to how they have the headers facing forward like in a front mount twin turbo setup. It seems fairly certain that the next step of this project will be to add the turbo which should gain them well over 1,200 plus horsepower on that set up.

it was more or less to give room for exhaust that 427 takes up a lot of space plus maybe turbos
@crazylarryjr
@crazylarryjr 5 жыл бұрын
@@genemiller6837, I have seen BB s-10's with conventional headers I agree it looked rough, but considering the V clamps, those are usually only used in high temp/pressure applications, meaning usually turbo. Since they have already done single turbo's over the years twinsies is the more and likely route

Yeah, as everyone as stated, that truck is an S10....... not a c10. C10’s are full size. Is Evans waterless coolant ok for a daily driver? Like my 2001 Camaro SS?
@v.e.7236
@v.e.7236 5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Exactly what this stuff was made for - an aluminum engine that would suffer some degree of electrolysis from water based coolant. Evans eliminates corrosion caused electrolysis by eliminating the water. Daily drivers or show cars, its a good investment into your car's longevity. I use it in my S10 Blazer cast iron 4.3L and haven't experienced any issues and my engine temps are about 5 - 10 degrees lower than before the change. Also, the coolant color hasn't changed or mucked up. If I ever do the LS swap, I'd definitely use this stuff from the jump. FYI
@ericbachmann8037
@ericbachmann8037 5 жыл бұрын
V. E. Thanks for your reply. Yeah, the LS1 is what my SS Has in it. I’ve been using Dex-cool for as long as I’ve owned it (12 years) without issues. I’ve heard about Evans Waterless coolant, was just wondering if it would be a good choice for my LS1. Looks like I’ll be changing it in the very near future. Again, thanks for your reply.
