Why? I can rewatch, rewind, pause, and watch on my time now

KZbin is by far the best way you can watch. No more waiting around the TV for the show. You can live your life and still watch the shows you enjoy.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this particular project! I've got a pair of 96's, a 2500 & 3500 dually. I'm trying to learn as much as I can to keep these bad boys in top shape! Can't wait for the next installment! Thanks!👍

REMEMBER!!!!! If you pull the timing cover off and do any sort of work with the timing system… buy and install a tab on the KDP(killer dowel pin). Save yourself from probable engine failure.

*measures all the way in the throat of the caliper, far far away from the actual ground measuring surface* *compares a thou to a hundredth of a millimeter, equal to just under four tenths of a thousandth* Yeah this fella knows his stuff.

"And away we go". Jackie Gleason used to say that after his brief intros on his shows. That was back in the early 1960's. I remember seeing it with my dad when i was a kid. I'm 63 now. That was when a television was called a "tv set", because it was a set of tubes! Oh yeah, it was a black and white picture.

For degreasing you can use a cheap shampoo for dry hair. It works better than most degreasers, is cheaper, and helps somewhat to help keep plastic and rubber from becoming brittle if the engine is currently in use

I would've went ahead and done the fuel pump timing while it was RIGHT THERE ON A STAND. You wouldn't have to worry about messing up the new paintjob.

A whole lot easier to just flip the engine on the stand to keep tappets in their bores. Unless your stand doesn’t rotate of course lol

Measuring pushrods that are the same length then beating dowels to hold up the tappets when you can stand the engine up or drop the pan. Priorities seem to be missing here.

What do the spark plugs on a Cummins get gapped to? My dad says 0.069 inches but I don't know if I trust that.
@profitlemon50042 ай бұрын
I gap mine to 4.20mm. Make sure to keep the plug wires in the right order, if you mix them up, just remember that the firing order is 8675309.

I miss the simplicity of these old diesels. It's very little to go wrong. Easy to fix. Very reliable! Unlike today's diesels. With DEF & after treatment. Sensors galore. Anytime one of those sensors gets a hiccup or fart. Throws a code. With an engine light. 😒
