Exactly what i was waiting for. Nice to see you testing all the setups. The heel lifting however is a thing of pushing technique.. If you dont push through your heel til the end of a stride it would happen to every skate boot on the market mounted over a long frame like this.

Few things to correct but I think with a 125, once it breaks in and you're used to it, then it'll fit like a glove. Nice first run. And I love the Never Forget short man... Strange that teens and even some adults won't know what blockbuster was

@@22ryanoc yes... I'd say its strange at first. I went 80 to 100 and then 110 and 125... But now I mostly skate 80 or 90... But I can bust out my 100 and 110. But 125 is too much for me... I felt like I was going to break my ankle being so high up. Most important part about bigger wheels, is learning to stop on those sizes. As it'll usually mean faster speeds

You should have grabbed the City model. The wheels are closer together, and crossovers are super smooth! The boot does take some time to mold to your feet, but once it does it will be like a second skin.

To me its not really a hype. Its a new boot in the mid price range and it comes with the Trinity frames. Its also not expensive to buy additional different casted Trinity frames. The release will defn. be in july or august.

Great review. I'm interested in upgrading my 4x80s to 3x110s, and like the specs of the 2018 Powerslide Swell 110. It comes in 2 versions: a) Unity frame/boot, supports upgrade to 125mm wheels; and 2) Trinity, supports max wheel size of 110. Which version do you recommend? Is there a big difference in performance by the height reduction of the Trinity version? Please advise.
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
I think the height and responsiveness you get from a Trinity boot will be worth the additional cost if any. Your 3x110 will feel like the ride height of 3x100, which is a huge deal. I haven't skated the Unity frame though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Nice video...it's extremely smooth. Is the Yi 4k+ camera that well stabilized or did you improve it in post processing? Impressive in any case.
@BacktoBlading6 жыл бұрын
Bit of both actually. The camera has stabilization built in but I didn't use it. This was all shot at 4k/60 then some of it was done in post (all the POV footage at the end and a few other bits). The 125s are really smooth though, I don't think much of it was modified. Thanks for watching!

@Shawn-wt4kh5 жыл бұрын
Possible alignment issues: you’re skating rather knock-kneed (your knees are inwardly rotated). Ideally your stance should be more neutral: neither knock-kneed nor bow-legged (the opposite problem). There are some fixes for this.

Nice test skate, like your impressions. Maybe the heel lift movement could be rectified by adding a foam or gel heel pad to shim it/fill it (if the tightening doesn’t work)? You look to be going fast. You never mentioned smoothness on rough surfaces, like the wooden bridge, compared to 80, 110. I also wondered if my ankles would hurt with the 125ers and a softer boot than I’m familiar with my hard shell Seba FR1 skates.
@Snifffski6 жыл бұрын
Cool One I've recently gone from Seba FR2s to Powerslide Swells (100mm). I've had ongoing issues with discomfort and blisters on the inside between the ankle and arch, which I've seen mentioned in lots of reviews - too many to be a coincidence. This is a shame, as I love the balance and performance of the skates. Just something to bear in mind if you're considering them.
@Burps___6 жыл бұрын
Simon Evans Hi, Simon. Your experience means a lot to me. You, and the others you mention, have experienced my fear. Funny, I actually have Seba GT 100mm soft boot skates, and they sort of do what you mention when I skate over 30 minutes. I can skate the FR 80mm without issue all afternoon. So 125mm, even with lower Trinity mountings (I’m not a big fan of proprietary frames), I feel like it might happen here. Maybe I’m a 100mm and under guy...lol. Thanks again, Simon. (PS I also fear the slim fit of PSlides vs the wider Sebas, wide foot here).
@Snifffski6 жыл бұрын
Cool One I hope you find the combination you're looking for without the pain and blisters. I'm sticking at it with my Swells as I find the bigger wheels really help on my city's (Cardiff, Wales) badly maintained roads. Testing out various sock combos, tape, blister plasters, and surgical spirit to harden the skin!
@lauro9736 жыл бұрын
I find that Compeed blister plasters are definitely worth the price tag. They help so much, and the key is to not try and take them off after a long skate. Leave the plaster on for a few days until the blister has healed. Also, I've heard a product called Myfit footies really helps avoid blisters. I'm currently rocking the Imperial Megacruiser (125 mm), which are great, but I'm so keen to upgrade to something trinity now (and for some reason I only really consider the Powerslide brand). I can't decide between the Swells, Doops, Next Megacruisers. The Taus and the Hardcore evo trinity look perfect but they seem too expensive for me. I just want to be able to skate marathons without getting blistered too much!
@Artemis_Prix5 жыл бұрын
@@lauro973 Hi Larry, I highly recommend the new 2019 Grand Prix Trinity skates. Despite their cost, they are the most supportive, comfortable, and fastest skates I've ever owned and are perfect for marathons. But, please know the trinity frames have limited adjustability compared to traditional 195mm racing frames.

@@BacktoBlading I hear ya. My brother has these. I have the twister 110. I think Trinity is a fad plus it mounts into plastic instead of aluminum like other mounts which sucks.
