I just have to say, the quality of your videos is awesome. The music, cutaways and commentary make for a great and entertaining video

Thanks so much. I got help from a friend in this edit. His skills are way higher than mine. :)

Went this weekend to the Chicago one and it was great. Got to meet one of my favorite artists, and some stuff that’s normally a few bucks a piece was 2 singles for $1 in bulk bins at many shops. I met The Professor as well and he’s a really polite and genuine guy. Only thing that sucked is they didn’t put a limit on people buying con exclusive playmats so black lotus VIP bought them every single day and resold them.

It was a crazy busy weekend. Lots of fun though.

Thanks for the glimpse into the con. I'm currently thinking about going to MagicCon Amsterdam, but don't really know why :)

Oh yeah, they`re pretty cool. At recent magic con in philly i got to play Pauper, Mystery Sealed and also got some artist proofs and my shock playmat signed by Dominik Mayer :)

Sounds like you made good use of the weekend. :)

I went to the magic con in Minneapolis. It was fun, but wizards were not organized. Even simply signing up for an event was extremely convoluted. If you go also know the admission price is NOT worth it as far as a monetary thing. View it as a form of entertainment or a concert. You pay for the experience.

Just went to MagicCon Amsterdam and had a blast! Got pulled into a random commander event where they incorperated a Jenga tower where you could either pull blocks yourself for 2 generic mana or pay 5 to force someone else to pull a block once the tower started getting wonkey. Every block added a rule like Planechase and knocking over the tower would bring you down to 1 life.

Sounds like you had a good time. Everyone MagicCon and CommandFest seemt o have their own feel with different things going on. Fun MTG weekends all around. :)

I wasn't aware almost everything involving MTG happens at these kind of events. I'll be checking event calendars now.

Yup. Way more than people think. And honestly, it can be fun just to hang out and durdle around looking at art, shopping, or just talking about MTG and making new friends.

For the commander games going on my LGS allows proxies. What ahve you seen been allowed in casual areas?
@PowrDragn Жыл бұрын
It's up to the players. You can mention it to them when you sit down. They decide if they want them or not. For my games, I'm fine if it's just a couple of cards. If the deck is 20% or more proxies, I'm usually against it. I don't play high power Commander, so there's no reason for folks to need lots of proxies in my games. But that's going to be different for each group of players.

Damn. Kind of sad that I didn't go to Barcelona after watching this.

It's worth it. Even if you don't go all weekend, one day still has a chance for you to see quite a bit of stuff. I'll be at the next Vegas in September.

Are there many independently run MTG conventions that aren't hosted by WotC? I'm curious as I live in a major city and rarely have seen many come through.
@PowrDragnАй бұрын
There are lots of conventions that have MTG at them, just not *all* about MTG. Otherwise you have MagicCons and Commandfests.

Why is the vivid seats ticket price for 2025 Vegas so expensive, but badge is 169? What is the difference.
@PowrDragnАй бұрын
I genuinely have no idea what you're referring to. They are $40/day (or $110/wknd). Premium are $35 and $60 more but come with extras. And then there are higher levels that come with a pile of stuff. Tickets for Chicago are here: mcchicago.mtgfestivals.com/en-us/badges/buy-badges.html There is no info for Vegas '25 yet. The only thing on the site is still Vegas '24 and that was sold out.
