Just out of curiosity, for your tack solution, why do you use hot water only and not use alcohol in the tack? The manufacturer suggestion for tack includes 10 to 15 percent alcohol in the water.

Great question! I find the tack does the exact same thing without the use of alcohol. I find the alcohol works great, but find many people when starting out over mix the alcohol and end up burning the adhesive of the film.

Does it matter when you line up the film from side finder to side finder that you have a slight curve on the cut on top of the hood or can it be a straight piece. I'll be using a bolk roll not a pre-cut piece is why I'm asking.

That doesn’t matter, as long as the line looks consistent all the way across. I’ve done pre-cut fenders with bulk hoods many times to great success.
