I have the Wallace and find it really good. I like the option of different sounds and volume

wallace for my soprano Eb cornet. Love it. Freer blowing w/o the insert but still good with the insert in. Pretty good tuning also if that matters. With the insert removed, you could easily use it for quiet parts in a group.

I really wish you had the UpMute to include in this comparison! I also have every one of these practice mutes (plus a few more cause I'm a pro at wasting money..lol). The Wallace was my 1st favorite and the Trumcor Stealth was my 2nd fav.... until I got the UpMute. Can't wait to get the Divitt mute I ordered so I can compare to all! Your price point is, by far, better than the rest of them so far. listening to your video here, I like the harmon-like sound of the Divitt as well (even better than the harmon-like sound my Wallace gives without the stem)

I have the latest silent brass and the Wallace. The silent brass feels very stuffy, I use the Wallace with the stem in but might start using it without the stem depending on the volume.

I have the famous Denis Wick practice mute and be using it for the past 40 plus years. Also a good a option. Still on my first cork. To make it even quite you can tape one one the two holes shut. 😏

You know I have had the gold SShhmute for a while now and I never knew that there was a difference between the gold and yellow. I just placed the order for the Divitt mute this past weekend. Looks like I'll have to buy the yellow bremmner too.

I’ve got a Shhmute, but before that I went to my local hardware store and bought a rubber drain stopper, drilled a hole through it and put it in my Harmon. That works pretty well, but the Harmon is an all copper bubble mute, and it’s pretty heavy, so the shhmute gets more action these days.

I use my silent brass mute. I have 2 original systems, with the reverb on the unit. Was thinking of getting the newest model. The only time I use it, these days is to warm up and maybe doodle while watching tv with the family. I think the yellow sssh mute would be better, so I’m going to order one and the Divitt. Cool looking mute and sounds like the resistance is good, so maybe I’ll retire the silent brass now...😎

Hey Trent. I recently picked up the UpMute (pun intended). It's...okay. But I feel like that about every practice mute I've had. I'm looking forward to this video!

I have the upmute as well (and many others). IT's the best I've used when balancing blow, decibel meter results, and tuning. I also purchased one of Trent's mutes last week, but haven't heard anything about it yet- hope to get it soon.

So did I, until I learnt to back right off. The Upmute is amazing then.

Hello I have the yellow sshhh mute. This one is quite enogh, to play at night but for me, there is too much resistance. Therefore I cannot practice as long as I want to do. The Divitt sounds good, like a harmon. I'am always practicing with my JoRal Aluminium harmon. Is there a difference to my harmon mute in resistance and loudness? VG Peter Germany

Hi Trent. Just got my Divitt mute yesterday. Played it for a couple of hours last night and loved it. I own quite a few other practice mutes and the resistance factor and intonation and ease of playing are better than most others, even though it isn't quite as soft. I'm thinking it might also make a good combo mute to play into a microphone. It has that good a sound and ease of playing. Thoughts?

How well would the Divitt mute work for early/late apartment/hotel practicing? I've kept my silent brass v2 and ssshhhmute for these but hate how they feel so I just end up not playing.

Is it okay to use a mute when just starting out. I'm thinking about taking up the trumpet but I've yet to hit a note and I'd have to do the majority of my practicing at night.

Man, Coppernicus is all class! How does the Divitt mute compare to the Bach 1857 practice mute? I have the Bach and while it’s okay I’m left wanting a bit more tonal quality but I don’t want to buy a new mute if it’s not going to make a difference.

@@austincustom My Divitt mute was recently delivered and it’s blows my other practice mute away (pun intended). Living in a townhouse makes me considerate of those living in close quarters/sharing walls with me. That said, I noodle through a practice mute 99.9% of the time. The Divitt sounds way better than my other practice mute while providing less resistance at the same time.
