So frustrating when people label a video a 'review' but in actuality it's merely a summary of product features and pricing. Thanks for the waste of time

Ehhh.....I feel you, but I wouldn't go that far. I agree that calling it a review is a step too far, because it's not a full fledged review. But it did put me on game to pass that I didn't know existed (I gave away my drum pad to a close friend, so I'm in the market for a new one, and I wanna see what's out there). So I'd say it depends on what you're looking for, or what you need. That said, I understand your qualms fully, because I've been there. It's like a friggin box opening, lol; it doesn't really do anything for me. 😂 But this video isn't _that_ level of useless imo.

Try the red pro logix pad next time than. The black is their softest one. You will prob find the red will strike the happy medium between your real feel and black out pad.

I have the Evans real feel two sided. The other side is a harder black rubber that is definitely louder and provides more spring. I love it. I'm getting the p4 soon too. It's free if you start with drumeo right now! (May '21).

My absolute favorite practice pad is the Vic Firth 12-inch pad, the one that looks like a decagon (or at least I think that’s the shape). What I love about it is that it’s responsive, it sounds great, and it’s surprisingly light for being a 12-inch pad. I have a Vater pad at my dad’s that’s also 12 inches, and it’s got a bit of heft to it.

Somewhat i feel that the real comparison is missing from the video... Being a person that wants to start in drumming, I still have the question of what should I buy... The video could be a bit more conclusive and the reviewer could have given the personal opinion to what to buy in each situation. Questions like: - Should I buy a multi surface pad like the P4 or just go for the Evans? - Comparing the Evans with the Prologix Russ Miller, is its worth the Prologix just to practice the rim shots as the Evans might not allow(!?) - Comparison of those single material practice pad compared to a multiple surface pratice pad? what is the benefit of having all the surfaces (P4) available and is it worth it? or might as well have something like the Prologix Russ Miller?

respect for not littering your reviews with amazon affiliate links. It makes them seem much more impartial. Might be time to revisit the practice pad reviews though, as there no mention of Vic Firth, remo, moongel pads, etc. Or even better, review the smaller 6-10 inch pads seperately from 10-14 inch pads, since most people already have an idea of what size they want

I use the the sabian quiet tone mesh practice pad. I was warned against using any type of rubber pad but I bought the evens real feal because it has great reviews. I now know why I was warned. The vibrations that were going through my entire hands was horrible, after only maybe ten minutes my fingers hands and wrists were extremely sore so I ended up back with my quiet tone. Just my personal experience. Great video though 👍

Looks like the Tone Ally one is great for Marching Drummers improve their bad techniques. Perfect to pair with a practice pad (especially the Real Feel, Invader Pad or Movement Drum Co. Pad. Or with real marching snare drum)
@ronaldgabrieljuan8624
@ronaldgabrieljuan8624 3 жыл бұрын
In my opinion. The Evans Real Feel's the best in this video (especially the vintage one) for Begginers, Intermediate, and Pro's. Versatile and Low Cost. But overall, the Movement Drum Co. Pad is the better than the Realfeel(I'm very sad because that's not included in this video) for intermidiates and pros because of it's maximum versatility and rims. The P4 is versatile and great, too. But not suitable for Drum Corps. The Real Feel is the best (in this video for versatility and low cost). Suitable for Drum Set players and Marching Drummers

Not the best pad in reality, BUT it's LOW COST AND VERSATILITY made the Realfeel GREAT. And Hey, even if there's greater pads today and very expensive ones, you don't really need them to build chops and techniques, right? The Realfeel's enough for versatility and cost effective
@germangismondi944
@germangismondi944 3 жыл бұрын
@@ronaldgabrieljuan8624 of course! You can build your chops just on a pillow or Any rubber. About realfeel, the kind of rubber Is top quality. And has a great feel. But pads like prologix aré build with modern rubbers that has a top quality too. Too much bouncy for me, but great.

@@germangismondi944 not a big fan of prologix pads, but they are great too. I'm more of a Movement Drum Co. Pad guy😂 Check it out. It's a SUPER GREAT pad for both Drum Corps/Marching Drummer and Drum Set Players. The Prologix Russ Miller is a little more expensive than Movement 4 in 1

@ronaldgabrieljuan8624

@@germangismondi944 prologix is more realistic in terms pf concert/drumset snare. Movement feels like marching snare(not much) but it is suitable for both. The movement also has a less bouncy insert. The main surface is made of silicone rubber that is too firm for a concert snare but maybe it'll still works. But i wouldn't recommend it for drumset players. The blue lightning from prologix may be better for you since it has less rebound than the russ miller one

I prefer the pro logix pads. Evans real feel is too bouncy and doesn’t give me a realistic workout that transfers to the drum kit. Especially since I tune my snare to medium only, even my snare doesn’t rebound as much as that.

I'm a bit lost. I've been using an Evans Real Feel pad for a long time now. It's great for fingers control and work but it's way too bouncy and to me it doesn't transition well to an actual snare. I've been thinking of adding another pad next to it with zero rebound (or close to it) to complement it when I practice. Which pad would be useful for that?
@felwinterslie8223

If you want absolutely zero rebound you can use a pillow instead of a pad. It's really soft so it absorbs all impact. It's great for working on wrist movement.
