Hi James, unfortunately didn't get a chance to pop down and say hello, work has been busy. Fun fact about the 3rd hole the marshy wet bit with the bridge you tee off over is a special scientific area where toads are regularly mating. But don't let that distract you while teeing off!!

Nice of Ollie to caddy for you. He'll be taking you to the next level with chat and thoughts, remember you can't concentrate for the hole round, chill in between shots. Hoping it only rains on those playing after 1pm.

In one of your videos a year or two ago, I think it was Leon(?) Anyway he had a chipping system all laid out where X-club landed in Y-spot and rolled Z-yards, and I was wondering if you took that into your game, or might consider it to take the feel aspect out a bit when you're struggling with the short game. Just a thought. Good luck next round.

Not be nosey, but how much do these cost, tournaments accommodations etc? Do you work full time? Are these in the week or weekend? Just interested in the process of what you do, I assume you are trying make q school still? Feel free not to answer if it’s to personal. 👍

entry fees here: www.jamegatour.co.uk/professional/ You'd have to assume James has a sponsor or someone bankrolling this. It's impossible to play golf full time without someone financially backing you. £200 to enter the event If you are playing a practice round before hand, and assume you will make the cut that is 2 nights in a hotel - £150 for a budgetish room (depending on location) petrol costs / wear and tear on the car £20+ (again, depending on how far you are driving) golf balls, gloves, range balls etc £50 Food for the 3 days £30+ (if doing it on a meal deal / making your own sandwiches budget) Total is around £500 per event I'm sure James does some lessons here and there, but if you want to compete even at this level (which is an incredibly high standard) you have to be playing and practicing full time or at least most of the time otherwise it's a ....waste of time

I would say try to use more wrists bend and allowing the feeling of club lagging behind you on the wedge play. Also come more out to in rather than in to out, to get a more on top of the ball strike

Poor scores and bad golf happen when you have tension in your swing. Colin Montgomery says under pressure relax and very light grip takes tension away. I can play under par with my mates but competition I just blow up because of the tension and competition conditions

hole 1- u aim 50 yds too far right & into all the trouble so if you dont get the draw your screwed - better option to aim for tree down let with a 30 yd fade that follows the hole round to the right and avoids all the potential trouble. You need to stop walking around with your feet adter you have hit the ball. Shows your off balance an feet have no grip. no1 shot 2. You aiming too far right again and playing for a draw which is the wrong shot into a green to stop the ball with control. It must be cut in to stop it from running and bouncing like it does with a drawn shot. your hitting the ground coz your balls not far enough back in your stance and becoz your hitting a draw fro an inside takeaway your swing is too flat to the ground instead of from a higher plane coming down from the outside. hole 1 sht 3 stop putting from off the green. you have no control, no idea of what speed to hit it and so your 12 ft short. u shoul be using 64 deg, lobbeed upto 2/3 mtrs from pin hit, bounce and stop no less than 2 mtrs and better chance for par putt. you'll never advance if you dont start chipping instead of putting.hole 2. sht 1 feet all over the place again. sht 2 you aiming at the pin with a 30k wind left 2 right with an open stance and a wedge. How is it supposed to get close unless you allow for those factors. Should be aiming 10 yds left with no wind - so plus another 10-15 yds left- so ttl = 20-25 yds left to account for conditions. more bad course management and wrong shot selection.plus your always hitting the ground and getting heavy contact. Ball further back, hands forward, shaft angled forward, hands moving forward after contact to stop the sol biting into the ground hole 3 u ended up 30 yds right in the rough coz thats where you were aiming. start aiming feet for very left hand edge of fairway with a fade. Hole 4. heavy contact on iron shot. sht 2 u aiming at bunker on right & again end up 30/40 yds right of pin and was a l 2 r wind . terrible alignment and worse result ever- what was wrong with aiming 30 yds left of green and take all bunker & rough probs out of play hole 5 the ball didnt hang out to the left - you drew it there and it was a r 2 l strong wind but you still chose to hit your low inside draw swing- the correct shot was to aim for lhs of green with a 20 yd cut into the wind that would fade into l 2 r into the green and onto thr pin. Can't believe your even thinking of using a putter from that lie. I think i'm gonna give up. Looks like u got all the gear and no idea. In fact if i see 1 more vid of you just repeating the same garbage shots i'm gonna just stop watching. its getting painful.

Can I ask , what level of golf do you play ?
@jordanphillips52443 жыл бұрын
Can't really be arsed to read the war and peace you've written but as a member at Ascot I'll comment on a couple of things. Your comments on 5, incorrect, left to that back pin which slopes severely away and is on a ridge is dead, aiming for the cut and hit something straight or not get the wind due to the tree cover and you'll find one of two bunkers on the left that you've failed to mention with a significantly more difficult shot over them. On the putter, where James landed is in a dip, its notoriously difficult to chip from and that green has so many slopes on it, a putt is a very safe play as the fringe is cut tight. On hole 2, which is actually the 3rd, that is an excellent line off the tee with a cut as all the room is to the right but cover the bunker and its an easy chip. There isn't a simple flag placement on the whole green, and James again, is right, you have to land the fringe or forget it. He has an expert coach with him on the day, is a talented player and is trying shots. Get in the bin with your shot by shot, its a feel game, trying to dissect it and you're destined to fail.
