Thank you for putting up these videos. It’s great information for getting the best out of the time that you have. I am completely new to the sport but I’ve already made new friends at the tracks and I am having a blast!

That seems to be some pretty good advice. I think burning batteries is a good way to get practice in, but only if you have a goal in mind. Once I get back onto a track, I'll probably look for my weakest section in the track and then maybe take advantage of cutting the track to keep hitting the section. More attempts at the slow part if I'm not running a complete lap. I'm no pro, but maybe an expert. My best finish is a third place in a National Race, but that was years ago. I don't feel bad about my finish because I was third, 1st place was taken by an Associated Sponsored driver, and second was taken by a TLR guy, but he was consistently faster than me. But that is what I have noticed about the Pro's, you all are very consistent with your times. That being said, it is tough to be consistent if your car isn't set up ideally for the conditions and the drivers personal driving style. Back then when I ran, it was really my first season running on any track, and I was attending UTI at the time. What I know now that I didn't realize back then, outdoors, I ran ProLine holeshot M3, summer temp. Indoor I ran the same tire, but instead of high 90° temp, it was more around mid 80° temps. (Perfect for that specific tire) on moist packed dirt. I just didn't have consistency toward the end of the race, why? M3 was too soft, they just overheated, I should have been on an M2. So that is what I meant by having a goal in mind, which goes in line with your advice, sort of. Find your weakness, and figure out why, is it a tough section of track, can I get a better line, or is it because of my setup. Overall good advice, You tube is an advantage for people who can't normally talk with pros. Basically the only advice I ever got, which was good, though I really never asked, but that's just how I am, is don't tune your car to compensate for one bad spot in the track. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, dude! I'd love to see a "day in the life", basically following you through a day of practice/prep. I know that's a lot harder to do, since you'd need a camera operator.

Coming from a mainly parking lot run back round, I've found the hardest part of track running is using the drivers stand. Maybe my depth perception isn't up to par, but I seem to have a difficult time navigating turns. I don't race, probably never will. Would be fun to try I think. Time is another issue unto itself, last time I ran my 2wd was a year ago.. lol. Was probably some of the most fun I've had behind the wheel of an RC though. Regardless of the fact that I wiped out a servo and the front end of the car. Great video Spencer. Keep em coming.

How do you prepare your mind mentally for races? One of my weaknesses is always being super nervous in a qualifier which ultimately effects my results.

My personal tip is to start getting relaxed before the race.... if I go to the race relaxed and willing only to have fun, then this will help me... If I get stressed before a Qualifier or a Final I watch to the race before, then I fix a point on the asphalt before somebody puts my car down...

Being new to a track racing I been practicing 5 months ever Sunday at carpet track off road. Could you possibly do a video at a track explaining lane choice when you brake do u brake at what point on jump and making a choice of where your landing. When is your throttle points on a curve or jump. Between short runs are u blipping throttle or head on then break think these points would help me out as well as new drivers. Also I have four buggies 1 four wheel b64 and 3 2 wheel buggies I usually take the 3 two wheel ones is it best to practice with just one? I’ve notice that I have them on separate transmitter so buddies can use these them but when transferring from one buggy to another the transmitter take a minute to adjust too. Thanks for your time and reading

Awesome video and great tips Spencer! I feel like I've finally gotten to the transition where running pack after pack doesn't help me get any better; and it does take some time. Do you ever practice with cones like Ryan Harris showed us in one of his videos?? Keep up the awesome work man!
