@@lyphtec I could only imagine the cost 😆 I would think they would be very handy for those occasional or weekend campers who don't won't to install an expensive underbody water tank. Nice set up. Can m10 bolts be use on those slots?

Hi.. unfortunately no. The slots are too small for M10 bolts. The kit does come supplied with M8 channel nuts & bolts so you don't need to purchase anything extra if you have say a Rhino Rack platform.

Thanks Richard. Yes - I've used it for several camping trips now. Also done a few day trips with just 1 tank. It's a very versatile system that's easy to use!

Curious how that rubber clip would go in NQ, the sun buggers stuff pretty quickly.

Seems to hold up pretty well for me so far, but I don't live in NQ so it's not as harsh. Generally though, 100% rubber does fairly well compared to other similar materials. They do sell spare parts - so worse case is just get new ones every few years.

Which ARB base rack did you order when you purchased the rack for the Prado? Any insight would be appreciated. I live in the USA and drive a gx460 and wanted to install the ARB Base Rack on my vehicle.

For the Prado, they offer 2 sizes. Length is the same @ 1835mm .. while width is either 1155mm or 1285mm. So one is wider and sticks out a bit. I got the slimmer 1155 option.

Can I ask how much height does the base rack add to the car? Reason is that my garage opening is a bit low. Cheers

Hi Alan, I haven't measured just with the Base Rack on it's own. But for reference, in my setup, without the water tanks mounted (so the Maxtrax, & water tank mount, & awning).. I'm sitting at 209cm to the highest point which is the Maxtrax pins. But I guess it also depends on your particular vehicle, & whether or not you have a lift. Mine is just stock. The Base Rack on it's own doesn't add that much height to the roof - I would say prob just slightly higher than the factory rails. Hope this helps.

Hey mate... prob very slightly when you first get it. Clears up after a few uses. Good idea to also flush it with tank cleaner maybe once a year like any other plastic jerrys or water tanks.

Yup - as you buy the tank & bracket separately although you will be limited by the load rating of your vehicle / roof platform

yeah.. nothing wrong with a $20 jerry can... but a bit of work getting it up & down the roof rack. I got these Vaast tanks when they were on special 20% off. Works out cheaper than the 30L Kaon underbody tank.

Suprisingly no road noise. Could be due to me mounting them at the far back & also the Maxtrax in front would deflected most of the wind
