Finishing the video. I had to giggle. Met my mother-in-law in 1987. Gulfport MS. She was teaching me Ronnie's fav recipies from his childhood. He had to stay in the kitchen. I remember turning to him and asking "why is the flour suffering?" (self rising). Mr. Charles, I did subscribe!! Love how you went thru detail anyone could understand. The mixer speeds, thru each step. I'm old now, and can't remember, well a lot. You made this easy, so I think I can do it! 🤗

Earlier today I was pining for my GrandDaddy's pound cake! He was a Navy cook in WW11, and afterward, lovingly prepared every meal his large family ever ate, and dragged in every neighbor & straggler to make sure they didn't go hungry! Unfortunately, after he died, my (pastor's wife) Aunt found, and refused to share, his prized recipes! Since 1982, we've been asking & waiting. Occasionally, my Aunt would make his cake recipe for us. We'd freeze it, share it & treasure it for months! In hindsight, it seems she only did this to remind us she controlled GrandDaddy's recipes. Maybe she sought the similar love & administration we had for him? If so, it backfired! Your recipe brings me so much hope & pure joy! This is so close to what I remember! After so many attempts, by watching you, I just know what i missed! You do things I never thought of! Even if this pound cake isn't precisely like GrandDaddy's, the LOVE ingredient is exactly the same!!! If I never get his recipe back - yours will be a perfect new tradition! Much love!
@retireorbust7 ай бұрын
I've put a curse or a blessing on your aunt. You tell her she has one week to get those recipes to you or it goes into effect.

This makes me happy and sad at the same time. My sister did something similar with my mother’s memories that she keeps for herself. It’s an incredibly selfish thing to do. I hope that you begin to carve out new traditions mixed with your grandfather’s traditions as well, the best you can.
