Nancy didn't cheat. Steve dumped her after the party because she said she didn't love him. He clarified that with her at school the next day when she was sober. That being said, I'd understand him being upset with how quickly she moved on but he's a pretty great guy so that doesn't seem to be a thing for him
@novicelifts51972 жыл бұрын
Nope he didn’t. He said and i quote:’I think u are bullshit.’ And he left then. They had a fight but they hadn’t broken up yet. She clearly cheated but that is life. Doesn’t mean she is a bad person but she did something wrong and should have clarified with him that they are not together before she starts something with jon.
@dancemachine19192 жыл бұрын
@@novicelifts5197 I disagree. I think it was clear that he was done with her at that moment. It seems like he changed his mind later on but you're entitled to your opinion 🤷🏿♀️

@@dancemachine1919 how is it clear? When did he explicitly say he wants to break up? He run out of the party after she told him everything is bullshit and then the day after he said ‘i think u are bullshit’ and then left the school ground. The next scene we see steve at is at the wheelers house where he has roses and repeated the line :’ i love you and i am sorry’. Is that where u interpreted that he broke up and regretted? Because it can means a lot of different things. Like he loves her and he is sorry that he was rude and called her bullshit. Fact is she didn’t even know if they were still together or not. And if it is not clear u don’t hook up with another guy the night after. She had to make it clear that they are not together and then she can do whatever she wants. But in this case it is clearly cheating as she didn’t care and she never even mentioned the ‘break up’ to jonathan. U have to clearly break up before u hook up with other people or else u can use that excuse at every fight u have when in a relationship. Sorry if i sound rude or a little too straight forward. I got cheated the same way (she used a fight as an excuse to cheat on me) and it left a bad taste. I am really trying to see your point of view. But for me it was clearly not a break up and nancy hooked up with jonathan because she always had more chemistry with him and that night she couldn’t hold it in anymore. They litteraly never even mentionned break up or something along the line :’then leave, stay single, or let’s break up’ Their last interaction before she slept with steve was : ‘ u are BS’ and that is clearly not a break up or if it is then it is very very grey and if it’s grey u have to make it clear or else it’s cheating. Like u can use that excuse at every fight in a relationship if u can ‘cheat/hook up’ if it’s grey.

@@dancemachine1919 i rewatched it, episode 4 and that is the conversation nancy has with jonathan after the supposed break up: Nancy: So he asked u to take me home? Jon: yeah, yeah he was upset. I mean, he was… he was really upset. But he was still worried about u. Hey. U need to cut urself some slack, okay? People say stupid things when they’re wasted (talking about nancy saying everything is bullshit, just making sure not that u say it’s about breaking up). Things they don’y mean. Nancy: yeah but that is the thing.what if i did mean it?. All this time, i ve been trying so hard to pretend like everything is fine, but it’s not. I feel like there is this. I don’t know, like this… Jon: like there is this weigth you re carrying around with you. All the time. I feel like too. Nancy: yeah but it’s different for u. Will came home.

I do feel like Nancy had a rocky start both seasons, but she was never a bad character. I like that Steve was a nice enough guy to notice that Nancy wasn’t bad because everything she was saying about her guilt and barb was valid and this ending definitely showed it- how can she move on if barbs parents literally uprooted their lives to look for their dead daughter, same way mike couldn’t move on from El, Joyce from will, and hopper from his trauma with his daughter. Everyone in this series literally goes through the “I’m an a-hole cuz trauma arc”

Yeah Billy has been confirmed to be racist by cast members and I'm pretty sure the Duffer Brothers as well. Also going off how casually homophobic Neil was to Billy(+ misogynistic towards his date) it's obvious that the racism is definitely inherited and Billy is unfortunately a product of a very unhealthy environment - it's actually very realistic and even if it is awful, it humanises his character and gives him a lot more depth than the standard 'bully' character, instead shining a light on what a life of abuse can turn a child into

They had a weird habit in this point of the show of taking D&D monsters that would be endgame bosses and making them foot soldiers, and vice versa. The Demogorgon in D&D is one of the most powerful demons in existence. On the flip side, the D&D Mind Flayers are a race of humanoids with Cthulhu-esque face tentacles and psychic powers (still huge threats, but because they're an evil society, not one big bad evil thing).
@SubzeroBlack682 жыл бұрын
The show did good at bringing attention to D&D and an influx of new interested players and fans, but had some misunderstandings for sure when it came to these key D&D characters for the show.
@alecLogan2 жыл бұрын
The Demogorgon’s designation was likely because they were set to have recently played against that particular enemy (so it was on their minds when they named it), and it was the first one they encountered. The Mind Flayer, meanwhile, _might_ have been titled that because it was explicitly a hive entity and happened to also be possessing one of their own and mining info/spreading misinfo. While there are surely more particular designations that likely fit better, those conveyed an ‘appropriate’ level of “tf are we even supposed to do?”
@beccazach2 жыл бұрын
the monsters in the show aren't named specifically bc they're straight out of a D&D game, they're just little nicknames given by the kids to help the adults/older teens understand and rationalize what they are bc they have similar qualities

Oh man, I used far too much hairspray in the early 80s as a teenager in Scotland; with my Robert Smith (of The Cure) hair-do, though, I was close to 6ft... even if six inches of that height was hair! I used to say I was glad there weren't many cameras about then at parties, etc. But now I'd love to see my friends and me with all our crazy and colourful outfits from back in those fun times. The Mod period was before that for me (two-tone suits and all that) and by the end of the 80s it was the Baggy era and the Second Summer of Love in the UK as a whole. Great times, all of them, and this show captures so much of the fun.

there's a few people who don't believe billy is racist because he never said a racist slur, but the duffer brother's confirmed that he was supposed to call lucas the n word but the actor who plays billy said he doesn't feel comfortable doing it. they did confirm that he is a racist and abusive person. caleb who plays lucas even talked about it too in a recent interview but do not google it since there's spoilers for season 4. billy just targeting lucas out of the entire group and then him saying "those are the type of people you should stay away from" while he sees max with him definitely showed us what type of person billy is. people defend him by saying that he "cares" for max but there was no scene where he was caring about her in this season. the only reason why he showed up to the byer's house to get her was because his father made him. i understand he had a rough childhood but it doesn't excuse for what he did. my opinion on billy will never change and i don't like him.

@@loco_logic To be fair, I do believe it’s both. It’s clear Billy’s a product of his environment and him inheriting racism as he did abuse and misogyny from his father is true, but that wasn’t the first time Billy saw Lucas. He knew they were Max’s friends when he was pretending to run them over, it was only after they were yelling at eachother and Max stormed off that he said something about it. Now, Billy’s far from a noble guy or a good brother, but it’s not unreasonable to presume it was a mix of both of those things.
