Crappies might be my number one fish. So fun, so good. Found a bag in the freezer last week from last summer. Turned them into some fantastic tacos. Looks like it's time to start the restock efforts. Thanks for the inspiration.

Here in the midwest, we use 9 ft light rods for pan fishing. The 9 ft rod helps pick up the slack line for a much better sweeping hook set. Good catch btw

Wdfw warm water biologist told the department heads there's no reason for a size limit on crappie after the 10 year study. After the public comment period the department decided to listen to the bucket biologist so the limits stayed. Hopefully this year they'll remove limits on all non native species.

Your boy needs to calm down. Crappie is called paper mouth for a reason. Stead pop not like bass fishing hook set. Keep trying

He kept losing them because he wasn't setting the hook hard enough at first. So I told him just to crank them 😂
