Pre-Sprouting Ranunculus Corms Inside | January 2024 // Cool Season Flowers 🌸

No matter how many times I watch ranunculus videos I can never get enough. We just posted our video of starting our corms. This is my second year attempting these. First year I saw them in home depot not knowing it was already too warm in my zone (8b). Got a head start this year and already have them in ground so I’m very hopeful that I’ll get blooms this year ! Loved your video !!!

Good reminder. I'm going to start mine soon. You're right about the early heat. Last year I put them out in Feb and had to cover them a few nights(7b MD/DC) but had about 6 weeks of blooms. May try a little earlier this year.

Are these from your garden last year? If so, is there a reason they can’t overwinter in the garden or have you dug them up to protect from squirrels and other rodents?

I read they can overwinter in zone 8 and up, so I was afraid they would not survive. And I also needed the space they were planted in to plant my dahlias last year. But I think with some protection they could probably survive
